Fabrizio Romano reports that Alexander Isak is eager to join Liverpool in a £130m transfer this summer.

Liverpool Transfers: Reds Get Approval to Pursue Record-Setting Alexander Isak Deal.

Just when it seems Liverpool’s transfer activity is about to slow down, another significant deal emerges.

The Reds have already invested around £260 million this summer and are not finished yet.

Hugo Ekitike is the latest addition, with his £69 million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed by the club yesterday.

Now, Liverpool is focusing on a record-setting acquisition of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

The Swedish striker has expressed his desire to leave this summer and prefers a move to the Premier League champions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Isak is ‘opening his doors to Liverpool’ and has dismissed a transfer to Saudi club Al-Hilal, as reported by Anfield Sector.

Newcastle United has set Isak’s price at £150 million, but this has not dissuaded Liverpool’s interest.

Instead, the Reds are preparing a £130 million bid for the 25-year-old. This amount would break all previous records in British football, a feat Liverpool has already achieved this summer with the £116 million signing of Florian Wirtz.

For Newcastle, the timing is particularly unfortunate. This summer, they have only secured Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, while their attempts to sign players like Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and James Trafford have been unsuccessful.

Additionally, their ideal replacement for Isak was Ekitike, who is now at Liverpool. The Magpies are looking to acquire Yoanne Wissa from Brentford for £35 million.

Other targets include Benjamin Sesko, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Lois Openda.

For Liverpool, both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez are expected to depart this summer. Diaz is edging closer to a transfer to Bayern Munich in a deal potentially worth £70 million.
