The Football Association is considering an investigation into the incident that occurred during the Everton vs. Liverpool match at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

Following a tense exchange on the field, referee Michael Oliver issued a red card to Arne Slot in the second half, resulting in a suspension for him.

An FA spokesperson stated, “We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Everton and Liverpool. We are in communication with the match officials and will thoroughly review the details of the incident.”

Tensions escalated after Oliver decided to extend the added time, which allowed Everton to equalize. Arne Slot confronted the match officials regarding this decision.

Arne Slot’s team was leading until the 90+8th minute when James Tarkowski scored a late equalizer. The goal was reviewed by VAR and ultimately upheld.

After the final whistle, Slot expressed his dissatisfaction with referee Oliver, asserting that he believed a significant error had been made during the match.

“The situation on the pitch was clear; we should have won. After reviewing it, I believe I did not deserve a red card. The referee could have reconsidered the situation in real time,” Slot remarked, his frustration heightened by Liverpool’s dropped points against their rivals.

Despite the outcome, Slot felt that Liverpool had earned a share of the points, given their control over much of the match.
