Exclusive: Liverpool have reached an agreement with a £65m star and matched Manchester City’s offer in a bid to secure the transfer.

It is reported that Liverpool have settled on personal terms with Antoine Semenyo while also equaling Manchester City’s proposal for the Bournemouth forward.

I can exclusively disclose for CaughtOffside that the Reds have finalized an agreement with Semenyo for a potential move in January, leaving the Ghana international to choose between Anfield and the Etihad Stadium.

Although Semenyo had previously agreed to terms with Man City, it appears that Liverpool has now matched their offer, putting the decision in his hands as he contemplates his future for January.

It seems likely that Semenyo will depart Bournemouth, with both clubs making progress, although any interested parties must still meet his £65m release clause.

Details of Antoine Semenyo’s release clause as Liverpool and Man City pursue the transfer.

According to my sources, Semenyo can leave Bournemouth for £65m, but this clause will expire before January 10th and will not be valid for the remainder of the month.

The Cherries have another clause set at £5m less, but that will not activate until the summer transfer window.

This creates a time constraint for Liverpool and City, but both teams appear to be working diligently to finalize as much of this agreement as possible now to be in a favorable position when the window opens in January.

Which club will Semenyo choose, Liverpool or City?

Semenyo has yet to make a definitive choice regarding his future, as both Liverpool and City have met his requirements with their respective contract proposals.

The 25-year-old is not in a hurry to make a decision, and it will be intriguing to see which club he ultimately selects, while he may also wait to see if other teams express interest in him.

There have been indications that LFC may be leading the race for Semenyo; however, several factors could still influence the final decision, including the future of manager Arne Slot and the potential sale of Mohamed Salah.

At the same time, Manchester United has also shown a strong interest in Semenyo recently, which means there is still an opportunity for this to escalate into a more intense competition for his signature.
