Exclusive: Arsenal has been presented with the opportunity to acquire Raheem Sterling, with Mikel Arteta expressing his strong interest…
Arsenal is reportedly given the opportunity to sign Raheem Sterling, and Mikel Arteta has made his stance on the issue known.
Arsenal has been presented with the opportunity to acquire Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling this summer.
In a notable development, Arsenal has the chance to secure Raheem Sterling, with Mikel Arteta openly sharing his perspective on the situation.
Enzo Maresca excluded Sterling from the Chelsea squad for the recent match against Manchester City, raising the possibility of a transfer.
Sterling expressed his disappointment and frustration regarding Maresca’s decision, prompting Arsenal to express their interest.
Sterling’s representatives are actively exploring the best options for the England international, who recognizes that remaining at Chelsea this summer is unlikely, especially with the risk of being omitted from the Premier League squad.
While various options, both domestic and international, are under consideration, the 29-year-old prefers to stay in England, particularly in London.
Arsenal is reportedly one of the clubs that Sterling’s agents have engaged with regarding a potential move before the transfer window closes.
It remains uncertain whether Chelsea would entertain a transfer or if Arsenal would be willing to make an offer.
Mikel Arteta, who has a strong rapport with Sterling, acknowledged this connection during a press conference on Friday, stating, “He’s someone I have really strong feelings about.”
Arsenal is actively seeking a new winger and will pursue this avenue further once the signing of Mikel Merino is finalized.
The club has also been evaluating other options, including Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Raphinha, and Ademola Lookman.
Crystal Palace shows interest in Sterling
Arsenal is not the only club presented with the opportunity to acquire the English winger, as HITC reports that Crystal Palace is also interested.
Earlier this summer, Palace reportedly discussed Sterling when he was included in negotiations for Michael Olise, who ultimately transferred to Bayern Munich.
Currently, Palace has been approached and has engaged in discussions regarding the requirements for a potential deal.
Manager Oliver Glasner also expressed his admiration for Sterling during a press conference on Friday.
“Raheem Sterling is an exceptional player, but that does not guarantee he will join Crystal Palace,” Glasner stated. “He is a talented individual, but I cannot predict what will happen with him.”
Aston Villa and Newcastle United have shown interest as well, while West Ham United was previously involved but is now focusing on other areas.
Beyond the Premier League, HITC indicates that Juventus has maintained a long-standing interest in Sterling.
However, their current priority lies with Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, and they are also considering Jadon Sancho, making it uncertain whether they will pursue Sterling.
