Report: Leeds United are contemplating the replacement of Daniel Farke with a manager who was dismissed just a year ago.

A new frontrunner has emerged to take over from Farke as discussions about his potential sacking heat up – according to various reports.

Leeds United are weighing the option of replacing Daniel Farke with a manager who was let go only 12 months prior.

The roster of managers being considered to succeed Daniel Farke at Leeds United is expanding, with a fresh name reportedly being evaluated this week, in addition to Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou.

Daniel Farke has two matches to secure his position at Leeds United. The Whites will face Chelsea on Wednesday night, followed by a match against Liverpool at Elland Road on Saturday, and the 49ers are eager to see Leeds avoid any losses.

If Leeds do not manage to earn points from these matches, Farke will be dismissed from his role. This comes after a troubling streak of six defeats in seven Premier League matches, including four consecutive losses for Leeds.

Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers have been naturally linked to the position, considering their recent departures from their previous roles. More recently, Hungarian legend Zsolt Low has been proposed to Leeds by RedBull.

Gary O’Neil has participated in two high-scoring encounters against Leeds United.

O’Neil has faced Leeds twice from the sidelines, with both matches being significant for the Leeds manager at that time. After securing a victory against Liverpool at Anfield, Jesse Marsch led his team to a thrilling 4-3 win over O’Neil’s Bournemouth.

This victory helped Marsch retain his position, a choice that Andrea Radrizzani now acknowledges was a misstep. In the rematch that season, O’Neil’s Bournemouth decisively defeated Leeds 4-1. This match marked the final game for Javi Gracia and Victor Orta.

It is fitting, then, that Leeds might now recruit the manager who played a crucial role in the club’s error with Marsch, as well as the manager who dealt a significant blow to Gracia and Orta’s tenure just over two years ago.

Currently, the focus is on Farke and his ability to achieve an unexpected outcome against Chelsea or Liverpool in the coming days. Paraag Marathe will also be closely monitoring the situation.
