Declan Rice injury update as Arsenal handed major boost after new double scare…
Declan Rice injury update as Arsenal receives significant boost following a new double scare.
The England midfielder and Cristhian Mosquera were both substituted during Brentford’s victory as a challenging trip to Aston Villa approaches.
Declan Rice has alleviated concerns regarding his availability for Arsenal’s Premier League match against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The England international was taken off with seven minutes remaining in Arsenal’s 2-0 triumph over Brentford on Wednesday night.
Rice mentioned that the problem was related to his calf and he received on-field treatment before being substituted for Viktor Gyokeres.
However, the midfielder informed Sky Sports News post-match that he is “fine,” which is a significant advantage for Arsenal.
The league leaders are set to face Aston Villa on Saturday, with Unai Emery’s team currently positioned third in the Premier League standings after an exhilarating 4-3 victory at Brighton.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is already dealing with multiple injury issues ahead of this match. Gabriel (thigh) and Kai Havertz (knee) are confirmed to miss the trip to Villa Park.
Leandro Trossard and William Saliba are both uncertain after being absent from the win over Brentford and Sunday’s draw against Chelsea.
Trossard sustained a calf injury during the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich last week, while Saliba incurred a knock during training on Saturday.
Arteta stated on Tuesday that both players could potentially return in a “matter of days,” raising hopes that they might be available for the Villa match.
Cristhian Mosquera is also a concern, as he is set to be evaluated after leaving the field in the first half of the win over Brentford.
“We have to wait and see,” Arteta remarked. “It’s likely the knee or ankle. We’re uncertain. He couldn’t provide a clear indication of the issue, but he was unable to continue.
