Dallas Cowboys Held Discussions with South Carolina Gamecock, Expected to be a Top 50 Selection in NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly met with South Carolina linebacker Demetrius Knight during his Pro Day.

This week, the South Carolina Gamecocks held their annual Pro Day, offering former players a final chance to showcase their skills to NFL teams ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Among the players attracting significant attention is linebacker Demetrius Knight, who caught the eye of several teams during the event.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, at least five linebacker coaches interacted with Knight at South Carolina’s Pro Day, including representatives from the Dallas Cowboys.

Schultz also indicated that Knight is expected to be a top-50 pick in this year’s draft.

South Carolina LB Demetrius Knight Jr. participated in his Pro Day today, engaging with multiple linebacker coaches, including the Cowboys and defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, as reported by a source.

He has been identified as a likely top-50 selection in the upcoming draft in April.

The Cowboys currently possess the 12th overall pick and the 44th overall pick in the second round.

Should Knight slip past the top 50, the Cowboys would have to wait until the 76th overall pick to potentially select him if he remains available.

Throughout his college career, Knight played at Georgia Tech, Charlotte, and concluded his final season at South Carolina.

In 2024, he recorded 82 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, and one interception, participating in all 13 games for the Gamecocks.

Knight is among several Gamecocks anticipated to be selected in the early rounds of this year’s NFL draft.
