Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: confirmed lineup, team news, and injury updates for today’s Premier League match.
The Gunners head to Old Trafford without any new injury issues.
Arsenal is likely to maintain their current lineup for the match against Manchester United after their impressive 7-1 victory in the Champions League against PSV in Holland on Tuesday, marking a historic achievement as the first team to score seven goals in an away knockout match.
Manager Mikel Arteta may consider resting some players ahead of the second leg of the last-16 tie next week, but he is expected to field a strong team at Old Trafford.
With no new injury concerns following the PSV match, Arteta could opt for an unchanged lineup. However, if he decides to make adjustments, the defense is the most probable area for changes.
Riccardo Calafiori, who performed well off the bench against PSV, may replace Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back. Additionally, Ben White, who has yet to start since returning from injury last month, could be an option at right-back in place of Jurrien Timber. Arsenal has been cautious with White’s playing time following his knee surgery in November, so he might remain on the bench.
The Gunners are currently facing a shortage of attacking options, missing four forwards due to injuries. Mikel Merino is anticipated to start as a No. 9 for the fourth consecutive match, having scored three goals in his last four appearances since moving into the forward position.
Arsenal’s predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard.
Injuries: Havertz (hamstring), Jesus (knee), Martinelli (hamstring), Saka (hamstring), Tomiyasu (knee).
Match details: 4:30 PM GMT on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Location: Old Trafford, Manchester.
Referee: Anthony Taylor.
