Arsenal vs Man City LIVE!

Today at Wembley, the first trophy of the English football season is at stake as Arsenal takes on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. The Gunners are aiming for victory, hoping it will be the initial step towards an unprecedented quadruple this season, as Mikel Arteta seeks to secure his first major trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2020.

City recently faced elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid in the last 16, but they have a prime opportunity to recover this afternoon and deliver a psychological blow to their rivals ahead of the Premier League title race. Arsenal will be without Eberechi Eze due to a significant injury setback, while Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard remain unavailable. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Kai Havertz are set to start. For City, Ruben Dias and Marc Guehi are also missing, with James Trafford taking the goalkeeping position.

The two top teams in the country are set to clash in the latest chapter of their rivalry. Arteta is eager for Arsenal to move past their ‘nearly’ status, while Guardiola is in pursuit of more trophies amidst speculation regarding his future. Arteta provides update on Timber and Odegaard.

Mikel Arteta has indicated that Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard are still approximately two weeks away from returning to the pitch for Arsenal.

“They couldn’t make it. I think they will still be a couple of weeks,” he stated.

“Let’s see after the international break if we have anyone back.”

He also mentioned that Kepa Arrizabalaga has been “phenomenal” in cup competitions for Arsenal this season and fully merits his starting position at Wembley.
