Arsenal and Leeds United are set to clash in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening, with both sides aiming to preserve their perfect start to the season.

Mikel Arteta’s team delivered a lackluster performance but managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in their opening match, while Daniel Farke’s squad achieved a significant 1-0 win against Everton, courtesy of Lukas Nmecha’s late penalty.

Both coaches face injury challenges that will require them to make crucial decisions, and this is how GIVEMESPORT anticipates the teams will line up.

Arsenal Team News

The Gunners had nearly a full-strength squad available last weekend, but have encountered some injury setbacks leading up to this match.

Striker Kai Havertz has sustained a knee injury that may keep him out for an extended period, while defender Ben White and midfielder Christian Norgaard also missed training sessions.

Gabriel Jesus continues to be a long-term absence due to the ACL injury he sustained in January. Eberechi Eze has not signed in time but is expected to join the team shortly.

Arteta Provides Team News Update

In his pre-match press conference, Arteta provided an update on his squad ahead of the match.

“Well, he’s [Havertz] definitely not fit, and we don’t really know the extent of the injury. We need more time and additional tests. I prefer not to discuss the specifics.

We will make further decisions about our approach. The reality is he won’t be available for tomorrow.

“Mentally, he’s in a good place. Strong, committed, and he had an incredible recovery. Now he’s faced with a setback; let’s see how serious it is.

“Christian [Norgaard] will not be part of the squad. As for Ben [White], we will assess how he responds. Christian is expected to be out for about a week or so.

“We need to manage Jurrien [Timber]’s workload since he has been sidelined for an extended period… thus, we have opted to reduce his training intensity.

“Gabriel [Jesus] is performing exceptionally well. He appears to be in a very good condition. Naturally, it was a significant injury, and he must return in a robust manner, but he is undoubtedly in the right mindset.”

Arsenal Predicted XI

Arsenal Predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Gyokeres.

Arsenal Predicted Substitutes: Kepa (GK), Kiwior (DEF), Zinchenko (DEF), Lewis-Skelly (DEF), Mosquera (DEF), Merino (MID), Nwaneri (MID), Madueke (FWD), Trossard (FWD).

Following a victory at Old Trafford, Arsenal is expected to maintain the same lineup. Arteta is likely to have the £220,000-a-week pair of Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino on the bench, along with summer acquisitions Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

Leeds Team News

Ethan Ampadu

The newly-promoted Leeds secured a significant win in their season opener, but they will be without captain Ethan Ampadu until after the international break due to a knee injury sustained in the latter part of that match.

Jayden Bogle has recovered in time for that match and should play again, while Jaka Bijol is back from suspension. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to participate as he works on regaining match fitness after joining as a free agent.
