Arsenal: The completion of their third summer signing has been confirmed by Romano, who states that the next ‘advanced’ transfer is ‘absolutely on’.

Arsenal has officially announced the completion of their third summer signing, with Fabrizio Romano affirming that another transfer is ‘absolutely on’.

The Gunners had a slow start to this summer’s transfer window, while Premier League champions Liverpool secured significant deals before Mikel Arteta’s team made their initial signing.

However, Arsenal’s summer is beginning to take shape as they have now entered the ranks of this window’s biggest spenders in Europe.

After acquiring Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga as their first two signings, the Gunners added Christian Norgaard as their third acquisition on Thursday afternoon. This £10m transfer brings their total summer expenditure to approximately £75m.

Norgaard is expected to be a valuable squad player for Arsenal, having demonstrated his capabilities in the Premier League with Brentford, and Arteta has shared his thoughts on what Norgaard will contribute.

Arteta stated: “We’re thrilled to welcome Christian to Arsenal. He is an international player with extensive Premier League experience. His proven leadership abilities and strong character will be essential for our squad.

“He is a robust midfielder with outstanding tactical awareness and versatility. Additionally, he possesses physical presence and intelligence, which will enhance our depth and balance.

“Christian will contribute significantly to the team both on and off the field, and we are eager to begin collaborating with him in this new phase of his career. We extend a warm welcome to Christian and his family at Arsenal.”

These three signings mark a solid beginning for Arsenal, yet they continue to seek key attacking reinforcements, targeting a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder.

Viktor Gyokeres has surfaced as their primary striker target, but a report from Thursday morning suggested that this deal is on the verge of ‘collapse’ due to a critical issue.

Nonetheless, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has sought to reassure Arsenal supporters, affirming that his transfer to the Emirates is still “absolutely on”.

“I continue to receive numerous inquiries from Arsenal fans regarding Viktor Gyokeres,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel.

“Folks, I am aware that there have been some claims in recent days suggesting that the deal was finalized. It has not been finalized, but that does not imply that the deal is not progressing.

“So, remain calm about the Gyokeres situation. There was significant excitement on Sunday, and I understand why, as Arsenal has made substantial progress.

Arsenal is engaged in very advanced discussions for Viktor Gyokeres, and that status remains unchanged. It is still advanced. It is still concrete. It is still absolutely on.

“The deal has not been finalized because before declaring it done, an agreement between the clubs is necessary. The agreement with Gyokeres is still in place.

It’s a five-year contract. What I can share with you today is that Gyokeres has been very clear with Sporting in recent hours – he will not attend training.

“The message from Viktor Gyokeres is unmistakable – he will not show up. He does not wish to train or play for Sporting any longer. He wants to join Arsenal.

“Currently, the two clubs are still discussing the valuation gap for Viktor Gyokeres. Let’s keep an eye on the situation.

Allow them to work. Allow them to negotiate. I will not adopt a negative stance on this Joker situation.

The discussions are ongoing. Arsenal is actively pursuing it. Let Arsenal work. Let Sporting work.
