Arsenal is poised to make a move for a new winger, as confirmed by Ornstein, who has unveiled a potential target that the club is keen on acquiring.

Ornstein has disclosed that Arsenal is set to intensify their efforts in signing a winger, as the club aims to bolster their squad with this specific position in mind.

Arsenal is gearing up to explore the possibility of acquiring a new winger, with Athletic Club’s Nico Williams being mentioned as a potential target by David Ornstein.

According to a report by Sam Dean in The Telegraph, the recent performance of Kai Havertz may lead Arsenal to shift their focus towards signing a winger rather than a center-forward during this summer transfer window.

Sources from The Telegraph have indicated that Arsenal is ready to make this adjustment in their transfer strategy, depending on the availability of suitable targets in the upcoming transfer window.

David Ornstein mentioned in his Q&A for The Athletic that Arsenal have been seeking to strengthen their squad with more depth and competition in the wide forward positions. He also stated that Pedro Neto is not a top priority for the club this summer.

The latest updates on Arsenal’s injuries and news reveal that despite interest from other clubs, Neto’s poor injury history and high cost make it unlikely for Arsenal to pursue a deal for him this summer.

Ornstein also highlighted Nico Williams from Athletic Club as one of the alternative options that Arsenal are considering.

Once more, there are competing teams in the race, and Williams’ departure from his current club is not certain. However, Arsenal holds a strong admiration for the 21-year-old player.

According to Charles Watts, Williams is a priority target for Arsenal this summer, as he has a release clause of €50m (£42.9m).

Matt Law from The Telegraph previously stated that despite signing a new deal in December, Williams’ release clause remained the same, and Chelsea was also interested in signing him.

Athletic Club appears to be making arrangements for Williams’ potential departure by securing a deal for Alvaro Djalo from Braga as a possible replacement.

In the current season, Williams has scored seven goals and provided 14 assists in 33 matches for Athletic Club.
