Arteta to implement two changes | Anticipated Arsenal lineup against Liverpool as £27m player returns

Anticipated Arsenal lineup facing Liverpool: Trossard replaces Martinelli; Eze sidelined once more.

Leandro Trossard is set to take Gabriel Martinelli’s place in the Arsenal starting eleven as they host Liverpool at the Emirates on Thursday.

Arsenal aims to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings when they welcome Liverpool to the Emirates this Thursday evening. Mikel Arteta faces no new concerns ahead of his team’s upcoming match.

Riccardo Calafiori (muscle injury) and Cristhian Mosquera (ankle injury) continue their recovery in the treatment room. Nevertheless, both defenders are nearing a return. Furthermore, Max Dowman remains out due to an ankle issue.

On the other hand, Kai Havertz might rejoin the matchday squad after being omitted from the group this past weekend against Bournemouth. In his pre-match press conference, the Spanish manager shared updates on the fitness of Calafiori, Mosquera, and Havertz.

The Arsenal manager stated, “We are closely monitoring his workload, as he has been sidelined for an extended period due to two separate issues, and he is very close to returning. He trained again this morning, and we hope to have him back in the best form of Kai Havertz.”

“They [Calafiori and Mosquera] are out again. I believe [they’ll return] quite soon; they are in the final phase of rehabilitation. If all goes well, they should be available for selection very soon.”

During his press conference, Arteta also commended Piero Hincapie for his recent contributions. The Arsenal manager remarked, “He arrived very late in the transfer window, without a pre-season, and after undergoing surgery as well.

He has been exceptional in fulfilling everything we ask of him in various roles. I believe it has been a significant boost for the team and a step forward in terms of what he can contribute.”

David Raya is the automatic choice in goal, as Arsenal sets up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Liverpool on Thursday. The defense will consist of Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Piero Hincapie.

In the midfield, Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are the clear picks for the double pivot. Martin Odegaard will take on the no. 10 position, supported by wide players Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard. Up front, Viktor Gyokeres will spearhead the attack for the home team against Liverpool. Gabriel Martinelli and Eberechi Eze will serve as alternatives on the bench.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Trossard; Gyokeres
