Arsenal’s predicted line-up against Everton: Two adjustments made as Mikel Arteta offers a £32m talent the opportunity to excel.

Arsenal is set to return to Premier League action this weekend, aiming to maintain their title challenge under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners will travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton on Saturday night. They secured a 2-1 victory at home against Wolves in their last match, needing a late own goal from Cristhian Mosquera to clinch all three points. Currently, Arsenal sits at the top of the Premier League table after 16 matches.

However, they are being pursued by Manchester City and Aston Villa. Mikel Arteta’s team has struggled in the title race in recent years and is eager to finally lift the trophy. Below is a look at their anticipated line-up for the match against the Toffees….

Arsenal’s predicted line-up against Everton: goalkeeper and defense

GK: David Raya: Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper is adept with the ball at his feet, which is a crucial aspect of their playing style. He will aim to secure a clean sheet against Everton if possible. Kepa Arrizabalaga is available as competition from the bench.

RB: Jurrien Timber: He has established himself as a reliable defender for the Gunners. The Dutchman is versatile, capable of playing across the defensive line, which has proven beneficial. Before his transfer, he progressed through the Ajax academy and has adjusted well to life in England.

CB: William Saliba: The center-back made a timely return to the starting lineup against Wolves. Arteta requires his presence with both Mosquera and Gabriel currently sidelined due to injury. He has also shown to be a threat during set pieces at the opposite end of the field.

CB: Piero Hincapie: He joined the club during the last transfer window. The 23-year-old severed ties with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany to take on a new challenge at the Emirates Stadium. He has been receiving ample playing time lately.

LB: Myles Lewis-Skelly: Ben White was selected to play against Wolves, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Timber shift to right-back with Lewis-Skelly stepping in at left-back. The young player has faced challenges securing a consistent starting role this season. However, he might get his opportunity during the festive season.

ARSENAL predicted line-up vs Everton: midfield and attack

CM: Martin Zubimendi: Arsenal’s choice to acquire him from Real Sociedad has proven beneficial. He has emerged as a minor doubt for the upcoming match against Everton and will require evaluation. If all is well, he is expected to start in the midfield once more.

CM: Declan Rice: The former West Ham player plays a crucial role in this Gunners formation. He adds significant quality to the team and facilitates their play. Rice has also become a key figure for England under Thomas Tuchel and is looking forward to the World Cup next year in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

RW: Bukayo Saka: He has scored four league goals this season. Saka will be keen to increase his tally against the Toffees to support his team. The winger typically cuts in onto his left foot from the right, which poses challenges for opposing defenders.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli: The forward started against Wolves and is likely to do so again in this match. His speed and strength provide a valuable outlet for the Gunners, even though he has only scored once in the Premier League this season. Leandro Trossard is available as an alternative option if needed.

ST: Mikel Merino: Viktor Gyokeres has not made the desired impact since his summer transfer from Sporting Lisbon. Consequently, Arteta may choose to rest him against the Toffees. This would allow the £32m signing Merino the chance to lead the attack, and he has demonstrated his ability to find the back of the net.
