Arsenal are strategizing to acquire a £48m Premier League star as Arteta continues his spending spree.

According to transfer journalist Graeme Bailey, Arsenal is reportedly preparing to pursue Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

During the summer transfer window, it was noted that the Gunners aimed to secure a new left-sided forward due to the inconsistent performances of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard last season. Additionally, they were in search of a creative midfielder.

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes, Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao were all rumored to be potential signings for the Emirates Stadium.

Ultimately, Mikel Arteta’s team only brought in Eberechi Eze to enhance the attacking midfield area, choosing not to pursue any specialized left-sided forward.

Martinelli has had a strong start to the current season, and Trossard has also demonstrated his goal-scoring ability. However, according to TBR Football, Bailey reports that Arsenal is still on the lookout for a new forward next year and is eager to acquire their long-term target, Rogers.

Acquiring the Englishman will not be easy for the North London club, as Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also interested in him.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain has been closely observing his progress in anticipation of a potential move.

As for Rogers joining Arsenal, the journalist indicates that Chelsea is currently the frontrunner to sign him. Aston Villa is reluctant to let go of the 23-year-old and is planning to offer him an improved contract to encourage him to remain, despite his current deal lasting until 2030.

They are prepared to make him one of the club’s highest-paid players. Therefore, Arsenal will need to navigate several challenges to complete the transfer next year.

Similar to Eze, Rogers is a versatile talent; while his primary position is as a No.10, he is also adept at playing on the left wing. The young player can provide support on the right side, although he does not perform at his best in that position.

Rogers, estimated to be worth approximately £48m according to Transfermarkt, has demonstrated his capabilities at the top level recently and has even become a crucial member of the England national team.

Therefore, he would represent a significant acquisition for Arsenal if they can successfully outmaneuver other clubs in this competition to obtain his services.
