Arsenal has reportedly made a £50m offer for Real Madrid’s key player, Brahim Diaz, with Mikel Arteta playing a crucial role in the negotiations.

According to reports, Arsenal is looking to sign forward Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid as he continues to impress at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Gunners came back from a goal down to secure a 3-2 victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, maintaining their strong performance.

Currently, Arsenal holds a six-point lead over both Manchester City and Aston Villa, following City’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday evening.

There are speculations that Arsenal may explore the January transfer window for additional players to strengthen their squad, particularly after facing several injuries in recent weeks.

When questioned about the possibility of permanent transfers or loans in January, Arteta stated: “We are open to every option. If we can find a solution that is short, medium, or long-term, it’s always preferable as it provides stability and avoids the need to repeatedly integrate new players.

“However, we will see what unfolds in the coming weeks and aim to make the best decision.”

Now, Spanish outlet Fichajes claims that Arsenal has put forth an offer of €50m (£44m) to bring forward Diaz to the Emirates Stadium in January.

The Gunners view Diaz’s current situation as a significant market opportunity, given that the Morocco international has fallen out of favor under Xabi Alonso this season.

Diaz has only made four starts across all competitions for Real Madrid this season, yet he has excelled at the Africa Cup of Nations for Morocco.

The former Manchester City player netted the sole goal in Morocco’s 1-0 victory over Tanzania, securing their spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Diaz has scored in all four of his country’s matches at the competition, and now Arsenal has put an offer ‘on the table’ to finalize his transfer this winter.

Real Madrid is evaluating Arsenal’s offer, recognizing that €50m is quite a substantial amount for a player who may not be a guaranteed starter.

The report further states: Mikel Arteta has played a crucial role in this negotiation. The Arsenal manager views the acquisition of Brahim Díaz as a top priority, believing he would add creativity, mobility, and attacking dynamism to the team’s offensive play.

The London club realizes that providing him with stability and a prominent position is their strongest argument against Real Madrid, where the competition for attacking roles makes it challenging to maintain consistent performance.

Arsenal aims to conclude the deal promptly, and the process is being approached thoughtfully and without rush.
