Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing the highly-rated 21-year-old star, with a potential £65 million deal on the horizon.

As per Caught Offside, Arsenal is among the Premier League clubs keen on acquiring Newcastle United’s left-back, Lewis Hall, when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Last summer, the Gunners strengthened their defense by bringing in Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie. The latter was initially signed on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, but the decision has been made to activate the buy clause.

Hincapie has become Arsenal’s primary left-back option, yet Caught Offside reports that the London club ‘wants’ Hall from the Magpies and has been closely observing the Englishman’s development this season.

To secure the 21-year-old’s transfer from the Magpies, a package between £65 million and £70 million may be necessary. Eddie Howe’s team is likely to prioritize selling other players rather than letting Hall go.

Unlikely Transfer

Since joining Newcastle from Chelsea, Hall has made significant strides. He has appeared 39 times for the Magpies this season, showcasing impressive defensive skills. He averages 6 duels and 2 tackles per league match, along with 5 recoveries and nearly 3 clearances.

However, the Chelsea academy graduate has yet to demonstrate his attacking capabilities, indicating there is room for growth in that area. Although Arsenal has been identified as a potential destination, it appears improbable that they will invest in another left-back during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners are well-stocked in this position with Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Lewis-Skelly was one of the standout players last season, yet the teenager is currently unable to secure playing time due to the outstanding performances of Hincapie and Calafiori this year.

Hall may be enticed to join a Champions League club this summer, but he will also seek guaranteed playing time. Arsenal is unlikely to offer him that assurance, especially with Hincapie and Calafiori in their prime and expected to play significant roles in the future.

Rather than acquiring an additional left-back, the Gunners might consider letting go of one of their current players. Lewis-Skelly seems to be unhappy with the limited playing time he has received. He could either be loaned out or sold for a significant fee.

Arsenal is more inclined to pursue a new right-back.

Ben White is approaching the final two years of his contract and may be transferred in favor of a younger alternative. Tino Livramento from Newcastle has been mentioned as a potential target, and he seems more likely to join the Gunners than Hall. So far, no communication has been made with the Magpies.
