Arsenal is pursuing a three-part transfer plan to bring in Alexander Isak, as Newcastle sets a high price for the player…
Arsenal is reportedly devising a three-step strategy to secure the signing of Alexander Isak, as Newcastle United has set a substantial price tag for the striker.
To sign Alexander Isak, Arsenal has outlined a three-step transfer strategy, as Newcastle sets a high price for the player.
A three-step transfer approach has been formulated by Arsenal to secure Alexander Isak, following Newcastle’s announcement of a substantial price tag.
Newcastle is demanding a significant fee for Isak, which may compel Arsenal to consider including several players in a potential transaction to negotiate a lower price.
The Gunners are expected to propose a player-plus-cash arrangement involving three players to meet Newcastle’s valuation.
Isak, who has been linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium for some time, has been in impressive form, scoring three goals and providing an assist in his last four Premier League matches.
His contributions have been instrumental in helping Newcastle secure a position in the top half of the league table.
With the January transfer window approaching and Newcastle currently outside the Champions League spots, reports suggest that Mikel Arteta has taken a keen interest in the Swedish international.
The reported asking price for Isak stands at £115 million, but Arsenal aims to negotiate it down to around £80 million.
Despite the interest from Arsenal, it is believed that Isak is not likely to push for a move away from St James’ Park, especially considering he is under contract until at least June 2028.
To explore potential options for a player-plus-cash deal, football.london has identified a couple of players Arsenal might offer to Newcastle to help meet Isak’s valuation.
Takehiro Tomiyasu (£29 million)
Tomiyasu has struggled with injuries, missing most of last season and only featuring for six minutes this term due to a knee issue.
If he can regain match fitness by the new year, he could be included in a deal to reduce Isak’s price.
Jakub Kiwior (£25 million)
Kiwior played a significant role in Arteta’s squad last season but has found it challenging to secure a place in the lineup this year, making only nine appearances and averaging just over half an hour per game.
Kieran Tierney (£8m)
After recovering from a significant hamstring injury sustained during the European Championships this summer, Tierney has recently rejoined first-team training.
The 27-year-old defender, who did not see action as a substitute in Arsenal’s 5-1 victory against Sporting CP on Wednesday, could provide Newcastle with the flexibility to utilize Lewis Hall in a central midfield role, a position he excelled in during his time at the Chelsea academy.
