Arsenal injury update: Latest news and return dates for Martin Odegaard, Piero Hincapie, and Noni Madueke.

The Gunners are optimistic about welcoming back their summer signing after the international break as Martin Odegaard recovers from a knee problem.

Mikel Arteta is preparing to be without his captain, Martin Odegaard, when Arsenal resumes Premier League action this weekend.

The Norwegian had to pull out of international duty after sustaining a knee injury during a 2-0 victory over West Ham, which has added to the fitness challenges he has faced this season.

However, there is some good news for Arsenal. Fans were relieved to see Declan Rice start for England against Wales last week after he had been substituted during the West Ham match due to a back injury.

As Arsenal gears up for Saturday’s match against Fulham, here’s the latest on injury updates and expected return dates…

Martin Odegaard

Odegaard has had a disrupted season thus far, largely due to a recurring shoulder injury.

After making his return against West Ham prior to the international break, he collided knees with Crysencio Summerville and had to be taken off.

Odegaard withdrew from the Norway squad for their World Cup qualifier against Israel and a friendly against New Zealand, although he remains with the team.

Following the West Ham victory, Mikel Arteta commented on Odegaard’s injury: “He had a clash, knee to knee. Immediately, he felt discomfort. He’s not optimistic about it. He has a brace on it. Hopefully, it’s not too serious.”

Arsenal has confirmed that Odegaard sustained a medial collateral ligament injury, but no timeline for his return has been provided.

Potential return date: Unknown

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke had a promising start at the Emirates following his summer transfer from Chelsea, but he quickly found himself sidelined due to a knee injury.

He was substituted at halftime during a 1-1 draw with Manchester City last month, with Arteta stating, “he wasn’t fit enough to continue.”

Madueke was not included in the England squad, although Thomas Tuchel indicated that he could have been called up to replace Bukayo Saka if Saka were fit.

Expected return date: Early November

Piero Hincapie

Piero Hincapie has only made one substitute appearance for Arsenal since his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

He has been dealing with a groin issue but is nearing a return.

Before the West Ham victory, Arteta stated: “He will be available after the international break. This game came too quickly.”

Hincapie has yet to start for Arsenal but may return for the match against Fulham this weekend.

Expected return date: October 18 vs Fulham (A)

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has participated in just one match for Arsenal this season following his knee surgery in August.

Arteta recently commented: “I think we’re transitioning from weeks to months. However, knowing Kai, I cannot provide a specific timeline because I understand his determination.

“I believe he is in a positive state. It was a very difficult choice for him to undergo that procedure. Nevertheless, I think it was essential and the right decision made by the medical team to encourage him to proceed.”

Expected return date: Late 2025

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus rounds out the list of injured Arsenal forwards as he continues his rehabilitation from a torn ACL.

He has resumed training on grass, but has not been included in Arsenal’s Champions League roster, suggesting he will not be ready until the new year.

Expected return date: Late 2025/early 2026
