Arsenal receives a transfer message regarding Rodrygo amid an ‘agreement’ for Hincapie.

The Gunners have been informed clearly about Rodrygo’s transfer status as an ‘agreement’ has been established and a medical appointment is scheduled.

Stay updated with the latest news and rumors surrounding Arsenal’s transfers, particularly focusing on Rodrygo and Piero Hincapie.

Arsenal’s summer transfer activities seem to have reached a conclusion with the approval of a seventh new signing. The club has already signed Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Despite spending over £250 million, there have been no player departures sanctioned yet, even with interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, and Jakub Kiwior. The latter is expected to join Porto, and this transfer is anticipated to be followed by Piero Hincapie’s move to Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen.

It currently seems unlikely that there will be more signings before Monday, September 1, unless several players leave over the weekend. Rodrygo has been linked with a move throughout the summer, but he has indicated that he intends to remain at Real Madrid.

Rodrygo’s message

After Real Madrid learned their Champions League opponents for the 2025/26 season, Rodrygo suggested he would be at the club for those matches with a clear message.

On X, he posted an image of Real’s league stage opponents with the caption: “In search of the 16th,” accompanied by a trophy emoji.

This statement seems to eliminate any doubts about Rodrygo’s presence in the Spanish capital for the upcoming season, indicating he is not planning to leave.

Following his appearance against Real Oviedo, the Brazilian international may feel more assured about receiving regular playing time. Xabi Alonso’s remarks also imply that he has a role to fulfill.

Manchester City’s decision to prevent Savinho from joining Tottenham likely confirms their final stance, with Rodrygo being identified as their preferred replacement.

Hincapie deal finalized and medical scheduled

As reported by David Ornstein from the Athletic, Arsenal has successfully negotiated with Bayer Leverkusen to acquire Hincapie on loan for the 2025/26 season.

Additionally, it has been reported that a £45million (€52m) buy-option will be part of the agreement, with the Ecuadorian international expected to complete his medical this weekend.

Just four days after initiating contact for Hincapie, Arsenal has successfully concluded the deal, showcasing Berta’s expertise in the transfer market once again.

With Kiwior likely to leave, this represents an excellent acquisition for the Gunners, and Hincapie – who is capable of playing both as a central defender and a left-back – is undoubtedly an ideal fit for Arteta’s system.

Moreover, the deal carries minimal risk, as Arsenal retains the option to forgo a permanent transfer next summer, despite Leverkusen’s insistence on activating his release clause to facilitate a sale.
