Arsenal players ruled out for the Liverpool match, but Havertz may rejoin the squad.

Arteta provides a fresh injury update for Arsenal ahead of the Liverpool encounter.

While injury issues have improved, the Gunners are still without some players.

Riccardo Calafiori will not participate in Arsenal’s crucial match against Liverpool.

The defender has not played for the Gunners since their Carabao Cup victory over Crystal Palace prior to Christmas.

Calafiori has been absent for three matches since then, and Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he will again be unavailable for the visit of Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

Both Arsenal defenders, Riccardo Calafiori and Christhian Mosquera, are expected to miss out once more when Arsenal faces Liverpool on Thursday.

Calafiori has been sidelined for the last three league matches, and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has stated that he is not prepared to return for the upcoming match.

Mosquera, on the other hand, has been out since early December due to an ankle injury.

Arteta remains optimistic that both players will return soon.

“I believe they will soon reach the final stage of their rehabilitation,” he remarked. “Everything seems to be progressing well, and hopefully, they will be available for selection very soon.”

In the meantime, Kai Havertz has been training in anticipation of the match.

The forward made a return to the Arsenal bench during the 4-1 victory over Aston Villa but did not play, having been sidelined since August with a knee injury.

However, he was omitted from the squad for the 3-2 win against Bournemouth, with Arteta indicating they are “managing his load” after such an extended absence.

“We are keeping an eye on his load, as he has been out for a long time due to two different issues, and he is very close,” Arteta explained.

“He trained again this morning, and we hope to have him available, along with the best version of Kai Havertz.
