Arsenal decision on selling ‘two big names in January’ revealed as Berta ‘forced’ on one condition…
Arsenal’s decision regarding the sale of ‘two significant players in January’ has been disclosed, with Berta reportedly ‘compelled’ under one condition.
As per reports, Arsenal has made a determination on whether to part ways with ‘two significant players in January’, as they might be ‘obliged’ to generate funds.
The Gunners were quite active during the summer transfer window, aiming to enhance their prospects of clinching the Premier League and/or Champions League titles this season.
Arsenal invested over £250 million in summer acquisitions, with notable signings including Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and Piero Hincapie.
Through these acquisitions, the north London club secured most of Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta’s primary summer targets, although they had to release several surplus players to maintain financial balance at the window’s conclusion.
Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Oleksandr Zinchenko were among those who transferred elsewhere, and additional departures could occur in January.
Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus are currently viewed as probable candidates for departure, having been linked to various clubs over the summer and having seen their positions diminish following the arrivals of Gyokeres, Eze, and Madueke.
Now, Football Insider reports that the Gunners are ‘already strategizing to sell’ these ‘two significant players in January’, as they will be ‘prepared for a move away if not utilized’.
Another report from Football Insider indicates that Arsenal will be ‘compelled’ to approve January exits if they wish to ‘clear the path for new signings’.
‘With the Gunners looking to compete with Liverpool for the Premier League title, they may need to reinforce their squad again in January to mitigate the impact of injuries.
‘However, sources indicate that the North London club must generate revenue when the window reopens before they can pursue further acquisitions.’
The rise of teenager Max Dowman has posed an additional challenge for Trossard and Jesus, but William Gallas has articulated why he believes Arsenal should “nurture him”.
“Max Dowman possesses that level of maturity already. My goodness, we’ll see how things unfold with him. However, at this moment, it all hinges on his physical condition,” Gallas remarked.
“If he’s physically strong at 15, then he can certainly manage to play for a few minutes. I would be cautious about giving him excessive playing time. He’s not yet capable of completing a full 90 minutes; no one at that age is prepared for it. I believe he can begin to acclimate, but he shouldn’t be regarded as fully prepared to be a first-team player just yet.
“I’m not aware of his contract status, so Arsenal must ensure they look after him and retain him. Perhaps that, combined with his evident talent, is one of the reasons he’s part of the first team this season. It’s wonderful to witness a player of his caliber who is also English.
“Let’s not forget that Jack Wilshere made his debut at 16. I think he came through with us around that age, and he appeared ready from the outset.
“He already had that physique; he was mature. He joined us as a teenager but looked like he was 20. Therefore, for him, because he was also astute and very perceptive in his understanding of the game, he was able to adapt.”
