Arsenal ‘close on agreement’ for fifth summer signing amid verdict on ‘meeting release clause’…

Arsenal is reportedly ‘close to an agreement’ for their fifth summer signing as discussions progress regarding a deal.

So far this summer, Arsenal has officially secured three signings, bringing in Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The club’s next focus is to revamp their attacking lineup, seeking a new striker, winger, and attacking midfielder.

They are nearing a deal worth approximately £52m for England international Noni Madueke from Chelsea, which will address their winger needs.

Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze are also among Arsenal’s top targets in the forward position, and the Premier League club appears to be making headway.

On Sunday morning, journalist Henry Winter provided a positive update regarding three potential signings for Arsenal. He tweeted: “Should be a good week for Arsenal.

“Madueke and Mosquera are in. The fee for Gyokeres is nearly agreed, with only the add-ons being discussed, along with the agent’s significant cut (and Arsenal being firm on that issue).

“Gyokeres is clearly eager to join Arsenal (and will need to write a heartfelt farewell letter to Sporting). He might need to have another conversation with his agent to finalize the deal.

“There will also be a busy week concerning potential departures, generating funds from Kiwior, Nelson, Trossard, Vieira, and Zinchenko.”

Now, a report from Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke suggests that the Gunners are ‘close to an agreement’ with Crystal Palace for Eze, as they are ‘willing to meet his release clause’ and there is a ‘sense that progress has been made’.

“It appears they are ready to attempt to meet that release clause for Eze,” O’Rourke informed Football Insider.

“The negotiation will likely focus on the payment structure of the £68 million, including how much is paid upfront and the remainder in installments that Arsenal will be discussing.

“This could signify a strong commitment from Arsenal following their acquisition of Noni Madueke, as they continue to pursue Viktor Gyokeres as well.

“Discussions are still in progress between the two teams, but losing him would be a significant setback for Palace.

“Palace is likely to insist on receiving the entire release clause, although they may not be able to secure the full amount upfront.

“Arsenal may find it challenging to pay £68 million immediately, as that could exceed their FFP and PSR limits.

“They are looking to reduce the initial payment and settle the remainder through installments.

“It appears that Arsenal is making progress in their efforts to acquire Eze, indicating promising developments for the Gunners in the upcoming weeks.”
