Arsenal is set to make a move for a £60m “powerhouse” player that could aid in Martinelli’s revival.

Arsenal are reportedly considering a £60m bid for a “powerhouse” player that could potentially help Gabriel Martinelli regain his form and boost the team’s attacking prowess.

Arsenal made progress last season, coming close to challenging for the Premier League title.

Despite falling short, improvements were seen in various areas, such as their strong defense, Odegaard’s leadership, and Saka’s impressive performance.

However, Martinelli’s form seemed to regress. The potential arrival of a new star player could provide him with the opportunity to revitalize his attacking abilities.

A recent report from The Daily Briefing via Caught Offside has indicated that Arsenal is once again interested in signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer and is prepared to make an offer.

The report also suggests that Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are also interested in acquiring the Swedish player.

It has been revealed that Arsenal will make an offer in the range of £55m to £60m after selling Eddie Nketiah, which is less than his £86m release clause, but other reports suggest that the player’s desire to return to England could facilitate the transfer process.

In general, Arsenal will need to invest a significant amount of funds to secure Gyokeres this summer.

Considering his outstanding performance last season and the potential influence he could have on players like Martinelli, the investment is justified.

Gyokeres has the potential to be a great influence on Martinelli’s performance.

There are numerous ways in which Gyokeres could assist Martinelli in returning to his peak form next season, such as serving as a role model off the field and helping him improve his scoring abilities during training sessions.

However, the primary reason the Swedish international would be beneficial for the Brazilian is his impressive performance. Last season, Gyokeres, who stands at 6 foot 2 inches, scored an impressive 43 goals and provided 15 assists in just 50 games.

This means he averaged a goal involvement every 0.86 games, or in other words, provided 1.16 in every match, as noted by data analyst Ben Mattinson.

The rate of return is truly remarkable, surpassing the averages of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus at 0.41 and 0.44 per match, respectively.

If the former Ituano gem were to play alongside a clinical number nine like the Sporting Ace, it would make sense for the number of assists he records each season to rise significantly.

Understat’s analysis shows that he fell short of his expected assists figure by 1.32 in the league last season and a staggering 4.35 the season before.

However, it’s not just the 23-year-old’s assists that would likely see an increase, but also his goal-scoring abilities.

Having provided 15 assists last season and 12 the year before, the former Coventry City player is more than just a goal poacher.

He could potentially become a key provider for Arsenal’s other attackers, similar to Harry Kane’s creative impact at Tottenham Hotspur.

In the end, securing Gyokeres for a lower price would be amazing, but his talent is so exceptional that paying the full amount would still be a wise investment, particularly if he can contribute to Martinelli’s resurgence next season.

As such, it is imperative for Edu Gaspar and his team to make every effort to bring the prolific Swedish striker to the Emirates this summer.
