Report: Arsenal is set to begin negotiations to sign a £84m star following the completion of the Calafiori deal…
Arsenal is set to initiate discussions to acquire a £84m star following the completion of the Calafiori deal, as per reports.
After finalizing the Calafiori deal, Arsenal is reportedly gearing up to open talks for the signing of an £84m star.
Arsenal are reportedly in talks to secure the services of Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez, according to reports from Mexican outlet Fox Sports.
The Gunners are known for completing their transfer dealings early, but this summer seems to be an exception as they have yet to make a major signing.
Despite finalizing David Raya’s permanent move and acquiring Tommy Setford from Ajax, the latter is not expected to be part of the first team next season.
Nonetheless, Arsenal seem to be ramping up their efforts to strengthen the squad by nearing a deal for Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.
The player is now poised to undergo a medical after the North London club reached a preliminary agreement with the Italian side.
Arsenal have been actively strengthening their squad, with reports suggesting that they are looking to bring in a new midfielder.
Additionally, there are rumors that Arteta is also keen on adding a new number nine to the team.
Several strikers have been linked to a potential move to the Emirates Stadium recently, including Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres.
Giménez is a player that Arsenal is reportedly eyeing, as per a report from Fox Sports. It is believed that the club may soon make a formal move to secure his services.
According to the report, the player’s agent and father are set to travel to Europe for discussions with Arsenal.
It will be intriguing to see if Arteta’s team can successfully secure his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Fox Sports has indicated that Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, RB Leipzig, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the player.
His representatives will be holding discussions with these clubs as well.
It has been previously stated that Feyenoord is seeking a fee of approximately £84m for the sale of their star player, making it unlikely for Arsenal to pursue a deal if the Eredivisie club remains firm on their high valuation.
Giménez is a highly skilled player who has already demonstrated his abilities in the Dutch top-flight.
Therefore, if Arsenal can secure his signature in this transfer window, it could prove to be a smart acquisition for the club.
