Arsenal ( 4-3-3) line-up vs. Slavia Prague, Ben White, Mosquera, Hincapie, Norgaard and Nwaneri starts, Zubimendi suspended as Mikel Arteta makes five changes to the starting lineup…
£33m star makes a comeback, Arteta implements 4 changes | Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) against Slavia Prague.
Predicted Arsenal line-up against Slavia Prague, Ben White features in four changes.
Arsenal is aiming for their fourth consecutive Champions League victory as they take on Slavia Prague at the Fortuna Arena this evening.
The Gunners currently sit fourth in the standings with nine points, trailing leaders Paris Saint-Germain only on goal difference. A significant win could propel them to the top of the table.
Ahead of the match, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Viktor Gyokeres will be unavailable due to a muscle injury sustained during the match against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also been ruled out, and Martin Zubimendi will be serving a one-match European suspension.
Arsenal is looking to secure their 10th consecutive win across all competitions, with the chance to maintain an eighth straight clean sheet.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
David Raya is the clear choice for both Premier League and Champions League matches. He is expected to start in goal despite Arrizabalaga’s injury.
The Spaniard has not conceded a goal in Europe and aims for a fourth consecutive shutout.
Arteta may make a few adjustments to the defense as part of his rotation strategy. Myles Lewis-Skelly has featured in the last two Champions League matches ahead of Riccardo Calafiori. The club graduate is likely to reclaim his position at left-back over the Italian.
Ben White has been playing second fiddle to Jurrien Timber at right-back in the Premier League.
The £33 million-rated player may receive the starting nod over the Dutchman this evening. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are set to continue in central defense.
With Zubimendi suspended, Christian Norgaard is in line to make his full Champions League debut in the number six position.
Declan Rice was outstanding against Burnley last weekend, scoring the second goal with a superb header and providing a fantastic cross leading to the first goal scored by Gyokeres.
Rice also achieved nine duels won, along with nine recoveries, five tackles, and four clearances. It was an outstanding all-around performance.
The midfielder has received two yellow cards in Europe this season. A caution today could result in a suspension for the match against Bayern Munich. Nevertheless, he is expected to start in central midfield.
Eberechi Eze is anticipated to maintain his favored number 10 position, ahead of Ethan Nwaneri. The same applies to Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard, who will occupy the right and left wings, respectively.
Gabriel Martinelli has not yet recovered from a muscle injury sustained against Crystal Palace last month.
With Gyokeres unavailable, Arteta is expected to select Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker, similar to the second half against Burnley.
Academy striker Andre Harriman-Annous has traveled with the squad. The 17-year-old may make his Champions League debut from the bench against Slavia.
