Alisson’s transfer has been dismissed as the goalkeeper’s stance regarding his contract post-2026 has been disclosed.

Alisson’s position as Liverpool’s primary goalkeeper is under scrutiny due to interest from Juventus, but a transfer this summer for the Brazilian has now been ruled out.

Although Alisson’s existing contract is set to expire at the end of the season, Liverpool has the option to extend it until June 30, 2027.

This clause is anticipated to be activated to ensure that the 33-year-old does not spend his final season at Anfield, yet the uncertainty has piqued interest from Italy.

Juventus is among the clubs linked to a player who joined Liverpool after two years with AS Roma, where he played under the current Juventus manager, Luciano Spalletti.

However, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Alisson plans to remain at Liverpool until at least 2027.

“The message from Alisson’s camp is that the player genuinely wishes to continue at Liverpool,” Romano stated on YouTube.

“He is eager to fulfill his contract at Liverpool for one more season, until June 2027, and then eventually reassess his future.

“We will need to evaluate at the end of the season – when a review of the players, the manager, and all involved at the club takes place – what decisions will be made regarding the goalkeeper.

“Juventus and Inter are in search of a goalkeeper, making Alisson a potentially appealing option. In that scenario, it will depend on the club.

“But currently, Alisson’s desire is unmistakable: to continue at Liverpool.”

While, like nearly every Liverpool player, Alisson’s performance has been inconsistent this season, he remains one of the top and most skilled goalkeepers in global football.

The most significant concern, however, lies in his injury history – which is particularly relevant as the veteran missed Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray due to a minor issue and has not yet been confirmed as available for the match against Tottenham on Sunday.
