Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak: Latest updates on the Newcastle striker’s future.

Recent developments in the transfer market indicate that Liverpool may have an advantage in their quest to acquire Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

The Reds have consistently been linked with the Swedish international ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Isak has been impressive this season, netting 23 goals across all competitions.

Notably, he scored twice against Liverpool this season, including the decisive goal that secured victory for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final last week.

Reports suggest that Liverpool faces competition from clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, all of whom are interested in signing Isak this summer.

However, a new update sheds light on the striker’s situation.

According to the Spanish publication Sport, while Barcelona remains interested in Isak, it appears they are unlikely to make a formal offer this summer.

The report indicates that the La Liga club has concerns about the feasibility of registering Isak with La Liga, similar to the challenges they faced with Dani Olmo earlier this season.

Consequently, Barcelona is reportedly prioritizing the retention of their current squad members rather than pursuing new signings, which could potentially benefit Liverpool in their efforts to secure Isak if the Spanish club shifts its focus elsewhere.

Newcastle has been widely reported to have no intention of allowing Isak to depart this summer.

Various sources indicate that the Magpies would demand a transfer fee exceeding £100 million for the striker, with some estimates suggesting the asking price could approach £150 million.
