Frustrated, Alexander Isak discusses his challenges during a tough start at Liverpool.

Alexander Isak has shared his frustrations regarding his poor form following a difficult beginning to the season.

The Swedish player has yet to find his groove since making a British record £125 million transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool on deadline day.

Isak missed nearly all of Newcastle’s pre-season training after going on strike to secure a move to Anfield.

Consequently, the 26-year-old has found it hard to establish himself with the Premier League champions.

His slow adaptation to his new environment has resulted in the typically dependable striker scoring only once in his first eight matches for the club.

To complicate matters, Isak was out for four games due to a groin injury sustained during the Champions League victory against Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

He returned for last weekend’s 3-0 loss at Manchester City but remained an unused substitute.

Isak successfully participated in Sweden’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Switzerland on Saturday, playing 28 minutes after being brought on as a second-half substitute.

What did Isak express after his appearance for Sweden?

Following the 4-1 loss in Geneva, Isak was inquired about his feelings.

“It felt okay,” the Liverpool forward told the Swedish publication Sportbladet. “I believe the response in my body after the match was positive.

“Hopefully, I can perform well in the next match (on Tuesday). It’s always frustrating to be injured. Whether it’s one match or more, it’s always tougher for the player.”

Isak could do little to stop Sweden from suffering their fourth defeat in five Worl

d Cup qualifying matches.
