Liverpool may have finally completed their long-awaited transfer after months of hard work.

Reports suggest that the club may have secured the services of a highly talented player, who has drawn comparisons to Philippe Coutinho. What’s even more exciting is that this star could potentially be signed for a significantly reduced fee, making it a great deal for Liverpool.

Even without recent struggles in front of goal, it would have been wise for Liverpool to strengthen their attacking options, especially with the increased number of games in the new Champions League format. The team needs to have enough depth to meet the demands of the upcoming season.

Furthermore, the constant need to rotate players in the attacking positions during a match is why Arne Slot, the manager, has expressed his fondness for wingers and the desire to have a large pool of them in his squad. This further emphasizes the importance of adding another player who can excel in that role.

Liverpool has been actively pursuing young talent in recent years, making strategic moves to secure promising players like Harvey Elliott at bargain prices before their values skyrocket. This approach has already proven successful with players like Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon, and Bobby Clark showing great potential for the future.

However, Liverpool has now set its sights on a different young talent who, although more expensive than their previous acquisitions, has already shown immense promise. Alberto Moleiro, a 21-year-old Spanish prospect, has reportedly caught the attention of Liverpool.

According to the latest reports from AS (print edition via Sport Witness), Liverpool has been diligently working for “months” to secure Moleiro’s signature, with Inter Milan also expressing interest. It is believed that Las Palmas, Moleiro’s current club, is willing to sell him for half of his £52 million release clause, and the player himself is aware that this could be the moment for a big move.

He has already been linked to a couple of potential moves to Anfield. If Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid are all vying for your signature, then you’re definitely on the right path.

According to a report from AS in Spain in November 2022, Liverpool was said to be considering a transfer for a talented young Spanish player who is also being pursued by Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. Mundo Deportivo added Arsenal and Manchester City to the same list in December.

The AS article states that Jürgen Klopp is a big admirer of the player, and Liverpool’s scouting department has provided “very good” reports on his performances in the second division of Spain. While transfer negotiations between Barcelona and Camp Nou have reportedly paused in 2023, the Camp Nou team remains interested, as per Cadena Ser.

Moleiro’s playing style bears resemblance to that of Philippe Coutinho. He possesses a slender physique and tends to shift the ball onto his right foot from a starting position on the left side of the field. He exhibits finesse, exceptional skills, and fearlessly maneuvers the ball onto his preferred foot by dropping his shoulder. Additionally, Moleiro frequently executes penetrating through-balls or unleashes impressive long-range curling shots.

In comparison to when the rumors initially emerged and he was still a young player, Moleiro, at the age of 21, now has a greater likelihood of moving to England and adapting successfully. This is partly due to his previous experience playing for Las Palmas, in addition to other factors. Referred to as the “new Pedri” by Goal in October 2022, Moleiro is expected to make the move sooner rather than later.

According to local media outlet Canarias7, Barcelona even attempted to replicate the successful Pedri transfer in 2022 by offering a bid of $10.6 million (£8.9 million/€10 million) for the talented youngster. However, this offer was deemed insufficient, and Las Palmas will likely hold out for a higher sum considering the significant interest from various clubs across Europe.

Even if the release clause is reduced by 50%, it could still prove to be a favorable agreement. Moleiro’s professional trajectory is already on the right path, and a significant transfer is bound to happen. Liverpool should actively pursue several attacking reinforcements during the summer transfer window and carefully select the most suitable candidate.
