A top-tier club: A player valued at £51m has now verified that Tottenham is showing interest in acquiring his services…
Sevilla defender Loic Bade has seemingly validated the rumors of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
With the recent addition of Radu Dragusin from Genoa, Spurs have already bolstered their defense. However, it appears that Ange Postecoglou’s team is still in need of another center-back, and Bade has strongly hinted that Tottenham is keen on acquiring his services.
Tottenham have shown significant improvement from last season, but there is still room for enhancement in their defense.
While Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are exceptional players, adding another defender like Loic Bade, following Radu Dragusin’s arrival, could further strengthen their squad.
Bade has acknowledged the rumors and seemingly confirmed Tottenham’s interest in signing him during the upcoming transfer window. In an interview with Estadio Deportivo, he expressed his satisfaction with the interest from a prestigious club like Tottenham, emphasizing the need to stay focused and continue working hard.
Several defenders have been linked to Spurs in recent months, and Loic Bade from Sevilla is among them. Ange Postecoglou supposedly considered him as a backup plan last month when Bayern Munich attempted to disrupt Spurs’ deal for Dragusin.
Bade has now addressed the rumors and seemingly confirmed that Tottenham is interested in signing him during the summer. In an interview with Estadio Deportivo, he stated, “There is a sense of satisfaction. When a prestigious club like Tottenham shows interest, it means you are doing well.”
However, he also emphasized the importance of remaining calm and focused on his work and upcoming games.
During the same interview, Bade expressed his contentment with the idea of spending the next two decades at Sevilla due to his affection for both the club and the city.
“I genuinely enjoy being in this city. It feels like home to me. If it means staying here for the next 20 years, I would gladly do so. The level of comfort I experience here is unparalleled,” he stated.
Bade has been on Tottenham’s radar since the previous year. Prior to his move to Sevilla, he had an underwhelming six-month stint at Nottingham Forest in the first half of the previous season, during which he did not get a chance to play a single minute.
In January of the previous year, he joined Sevilla on loan, and following a successful spell, the move was made permanent in the summer. He committed to a four-year contract, which includes a £51 million (€60m) release clause (ED), ensuring his long-term future at the club.
Prior to the events of last summer, Tottenham had been associated with the possibility of acquiring Bade, and the French player once again caught their attention last month.
Currently, it appears that Spurs still hold a strong interest, and it will be intriguing to observe whether they will pursue the opportunity to sign him during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
