Arsenal engage in discussions for €30 million-rated South American forward.

Arsenal is engaging in negotiations for a South American striker with a valuation of €30 million.

Arsenal in negotiations with Igor Jesus

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly in negotiations to acquire Brazilian forward Igor Jesus from Botafogo this month. The club is eager to strengthen their attacking options during the current transfer window, and they view Botafogo’s Igor Jesus as a promising mid-season acquisition. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Gunners have initiated contact with his representatives as they consider a potential transfer.

Arsenal’s search for a new striker

The North London side has been actively seeking a new striker for some time. They previously engaged in discussions to sign Benjamin Sesko during the last summer transfer window.

Although Arsenal appeared close to securing his signature and were optimistic about outpacing their rivals, the deal fell through as the player opted to remain at RB Leipzig for another season.

Despite not adding a striker in the summer, Arteta has been making the most of his options with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

However, with the Brazilian international suffering an ACL injury, the Spanish manager is now in urgent need of a new forward.

Securing a striker has become a top priority for Arsenal in the current transfer window.

While their interest in Sesko remains, signing him this month seems improbable due to financial constraints and the player’s preference to stay in Germany.

Consequently, Arsenal is now contemplating the acquisition of two strikers: one to fill in for Gabriel Jesus in the current window and another high-caliber forward for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal eye a deal for Igor Jesus

The Gunners are keen on bringing Igor Jesus from Botafogo this month. He joined the Brazilian team last summer after spending four years with Middle Eastern club Shabab Al-Ahli. The 23-year-old striker has delivered several standout performances.

He has recorded 13 goal contributions in 31 appearances, attracting the attention of Arsenal due to his impressive performances.

Although he recently transferred to Botafogo, the club is open to allowing his exit for the appropriate fee, especially as they are in the off-season.

Arsenal has already engaged in discussions with his agents, and reports indicate that a transfer would require an investment of approximately €30 million.

Since these initial talks, Arteta’s squad has not taken further action, as they continue to assess whether he would be a suitable addition to their team.
