WHAT THE HELL was that performance?! 🤬 One Liverpool player had a night so bad we need to talk about it

on

Trey Nyoni – 8
Arguably Liverpool’s most consistent performer on the night. Nyoni was a livewire in the midfield, doing a great job with his distribution and ball-winning capabilities. He scored his first Champions League goal with a superb volley and looked comfortable in a tough environment. The 19-year-old had six defensive contributions and also made nine possession recoveries to prove why he’s ready to start more matches for Liverpool.

Alexander Isak – 7
Isak was made able to make instant impact after coming on as a substitute. He scored a powerful header with a crisp finish from close range three minutes after coming on to put his side in the lead. Couldn’t have done anything about what happened after that, but Isak’s proactive display was a positive.

Cody Gakpo – 5
Now that was a pretty strange substitute outing for the Dutch forward. Gakpo, like Isak, was also able to make an instant impact after coming on – as he provided a lovely assist for the Swedish forward’s goal. Then, Gakpo made a strange error with a horrible backpass header to gift Brown the goal – allowing Fenerbahce to get on top of the match.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 4.5
Szoboszlai got a chance to prove his qualities as ano.10 for Liverpool, but failed to inspire in that role. He might’ve created a few chances, but the Hungarian failed to set up anything truly impactful. Moved to the right-back role in the second half and failed to inspire anything from that position either.

Alisson – 4
That was a pretty poor outing for the Brazilian goalkeeper, who struggled to take control of things inside his penalty area. Alisson couldn’t do much for the first goal as he had committed to a challenge, but his movement for the other two was questionable. Alisson failed to detect the flight of the ball for the second goal and couldn’t react in time for Muriqi’s header. Almost conceded another goal late on after questionable sweeper-keeper work.

Jeremy Jacquet – 4
Jacquet had his first poor performance since joining Liverpool. He didn’t seem comfortable with the physical style that Fenerbahce employed, especially with the constant delivery into the penalty area. The Frenchman lost quite a few duels and made just one tackle, efore being bullied and outmuscled for Muriqi’s goal.

Bradley Barcola – 3
Barcola started the game as a no.9 and this performance showed he’s not a fit for that. He failed to get at the end of any major chances as the centre-forward, looking clunky in that role. The Frenchman was later moved to the right wing, but failed to create anything noteworthy there in a poor outing.

The others
Gomez – 6, Van Dijk – 5, Tsimikas – 6, Mac Allister – 5, Munoz – 4.5, Ngumoha – 7

Substitutes
Wirtz – 5, Kerkez – 6, Koumas – N/R
