Fortunately, there is now much more positive news regarding the striker. Craig Hope from the Daily Mail reported just before the weekend that Osula has removed his protective boot, regained full mobility, and might even make a return before the upcoming international break, dispelling earlier concerns of a lengthy absence that arose from a report in Denmark.

Importantly, Hope confirmed that the 23-year-old has not sustained a fracture and does not need surgery. Osula is already training at Newcastle’s facility to regain his fitness, with staff eager to have him ready for next weekend’s home match against Hull City, which is the club’s last game before the three-week international break.

Initial reports had indicated that Osula’s foot injury was more severe than first thought, potentially sidelining the Denmark international for a longer duration. However, Hope has alleviated those worries, although Newcastle is not yet relying on Osula being fully fit for the Hull match.

According to Hope’s sources, a more realistic target for his return is Newcastle’s first match after the international break, which is away at Coventry City on October 12.

Any of these timelines would be positive news for Jaissle. Osula has only played 56 minutes this season, which has restricted the head coach’s attacking options during the initial weeks of his time at Newcastle.

Avoiding surgery will also enable the striker to focus on regaining his fitness rather than undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation process.
