Sources: Update on Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal Today

An announcement regarding a new signing at Arsenal is expected soon following significant developments. The club is poised to confirm the deal for Bruno Guimaraes, with an official announcement anticipated shortly after recent progress on this matter.

Newcastle Engaging in Critical Talks Regarding Bruno Guimaraes After Arsenal’s Latest Bid

Newcastle United is set to initiate discussions concerning a new contract for Bruno Guimaraes, according to sources from Football Insider.

The 28-year-old midfielder has attracted considerable interest from several prominent Premier League teams, yet Newcastle is resolute in their efforts to retain him.

Eddie Howe considers the Brazilian international an essential component of his starting lineup and long-term strategy, and he would be very hesitant to allow him to depart this summer.

As I mentioned in the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Newcastle may propose a new contract to Guimaraes to secure his future with the club.

This development follows Arsenal’s approach to Newcastle with a bid of approximately £55 million for the midfielder, which was promptly rejected, and they may return with an improved offer.

Additionally, there have been suggestions of a release clause in Guimaraes’ contract, which would likely be modified if he agrees to new terms.

Is it possible for Bruno Guimaraes to stay at Newcastle this summer?

Football Insider reported on July 1 that Newcastle aims to thwart Arsenal’s interest in Guimaraes by presenting a new contract offer to persuade him to remain.

Negotiations for a new deal are anticipated to occur soon, although he is currently away participating in the World Cup as Brazil prepares for a round-of-16 match against Norway.

His future is expected to be resolved one way or another following the World Cup, and Newcastle is determined to prevail rather than allow him to join their competitors.

During the Transfer Insider podcast, I elaborated: “Newcastle faces a challenging situation as they are keen to retain Bruno Guimaraes.

Clearly, Arsenal’s inquiry was swiftly rejected by Newcastle. They were never going to part with Bruno for £55 million or whatever figure was mentioned.

“They will do everything possible to retain the Brazil international, and I am certain discussions regarding a new contract will take place to put an end to the speculation surrounding his future.

“I believe Arsenal’s interest will persist. There have been ongoing debates about whether there is a release clause in his current contract at St James’s Park.”

Will Arsenal submit another bid for Guimaraes?

In light of the continuous speculation regarding Guimaraes’ future at Newcastle, the club is keen to avoid a transfer saga akin to that of Alexander Isak last summer.

However, they might find themselves in a similar predicament if they cannot fend off Arsenal’s interest, as the club is reportedly poised to intensify their efforts to secure his signature.

Football Insider disclosed on 3 July that Arsenal is prepared to escalate their pursuit of Guimaraes after an initial offer was turned down, showing they remain undeterred.

Newcastle now faces a “challenging situation” as they strive to retain their top players following the high-profile exits of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

Guimaraes could potentially become their third significant sale, with Arsenal aiming to capitalize on the ongoing turmoil after a disappointing season at St James’ Park.
