Newcastle United is now interested in the ‘unbelievable’ West Ham star after nearly relegating the Hammers.

According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen will be a target for Newcastle United if the Hammers face relegation.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies have nearly sealed West Ham’s fate after a 3-1 victory over Nuno Espirito Santo’s team at St James Park on Sunday.

If relegation occurs, the Hammers will need to sell key players, and Newcastle is keeping an eye on the ‘unbelievable’ Bowen.

The Toons won’t be the only Premier League club interested in the 29-year-old England international, as Everton manager David Moyes may seek a reunion.

The former West Ham manager brought Bowen to the London Stadium from Hull City in 2020, and both may be eager to collaborate again.

Newcastle is aiming to replace Anthony Gordon, and Bowen is a suitable option despite his age.

The Englishman is capable of playing on both wings and as a number 9, boasting eight goals and ten assists in 37 league appearances this season.

He has accumulated 84 goals and 62 assists in 279 matches for West Ham, making him a valuable addition for Newcastle moving forward.

Bowen has established himself in the Premier League and could serve as a short-term enhancement over Gordon.

The Hammers’ captain has maintained consistency since his move to the top-flight, and Howe requires such players in his squad.

Newcastle has completely missed out on qualifying for European football next season and may lose some of their top targets to clubs competing in the Champions League or other continental tournaments next term.

Bowen is likely to prefer joining one of those teams, and the Magpies appear to have a slim chance of outbidding top contenders for his services.

They were on the brink of being drawn into the relegation battle after suffering four consecutive league defeats leading into May.

However, they managed to turn their fortunes around with two wins and a draw in their last three matches.

Bowen may be cautious about joining such a team and will likely seek to play for one that consistently challenges for a top-four finish.
