Report: Liverpool renegotiating deal with PL side for £75m player wanted by Chelsea…

Liverpool is in talks with a Premier League club to secure the signing of a £75m player, a move that is also being pursued by Chelsea.

Chelsea and Liverpool are both eager to bolster their offensive capabilities while the transfer window remains open.

Throughout the summer, Chelsea has been actively seeking to strengthen their attacking lineup, but with limited success.

Their recent acquisition, Marc Guiu, made his debut as a starter in the team’s 4-1 defeat against Celtic last Saturday.

Despite this, Enzo Maresca anticipates that Guiu will remain with the club in west London.

It is worth noting that Guiu is only 18 years old, indicating that Chelsea has yet to secure an experienced center-forward. Additionally, their attempts to secure a winger have also been unsuccessful.

Liverpool and Chelsea are both eyeing Anthony Gordon as a potential transfer target.

Chelsea currently have Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling for the left-wing position, but that has not deterred their interest in Gordon.

On the other hand, Liverpool, led by Arne Slot, seem to be more determined to secure the 23-year-old’s signature.

Reports suggest that while Chelsea are keen on Gordon, Liverpool are in talks with Newcastle United to finalize the deal for the Englishman.

However, Gordon’s price tag is expected to be high, with speculations indicating a potential fee of up to £75m for his services.

The talented player was a standout performer for Newcastle last season, contributing 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League matches.

It seems that Liverpool is more inclined to acquire Anthony Gordon than Chelsea. Gordon’s potential addition to Maresca’s team could be highly beneficial.

His performance at Newcastle has shown significant improvement, particularly in terms of end product.

Despite Mudryk and Sterling still being part of the squad at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool is reportedly in negotiations for Gordon, making a move to Anfield more probable.

However, Eddie Howe will likely be determined to retain him, given Gordon’s crucial role for the Magpies in the 2023/24 season.

It is anticipated that Newcastle may demand a fee of around £75m for the sale of the England international before the transfer window closes, a price that both Liverpool and Chelsea may be hesitant to meet.
