Arsenal XI vs Bayer Leverkusen: Expected lineup, confirmed team updates, and latest injury news for today’s Champions League match.

The Gunners will be without Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber for the crucial last-16 second-leg showdown.

Viktor Gyokeres may return to the Arsenal lineup for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Bayer Leverkusen.

The striker was on the bench during the victory over Everton on Saturday, with Kai Havertz taking the lead, but Mikel Arteta could make changes for the second-leg encounter.

Arsenal is keen to manage Havertz’s fitness carefully, especially with the Carabao Cup final approaching on Sunday, which could see Gyokeres starting against Leverkusen.

Jurrien Timber has been ruled out for Tuesday’s match, prompting Arteta to choose between Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White.

Mosquera was the preferred substitute against Everton, and if he starts, Riccardo Calafiori could offer a more offensive full-back option on the other side.

Martin Odegaard is also unavailable, which means Eberechi Eze is likely to retain his position at No10.

Arsenal will be bolstered by the return of Leandro Trossard, who has missed the last two games due to a minor injury.

Trossard participated in training on Monday and is anticipated to rejoin the squad, possibly returning to the starting eleven.

Arteta also needs to determine how to utilize Max Dowman after his impressive performance that helped Arsenal secure victory against Everton.

The 16-year-old is expected to be on the bench and may play a crucial role again if Arsenal requires a late goal. Mikel Merino continues to be out following foot surgery.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Eze, Trossard; Gyokeres

Injured: Merino, Odegaard, Timber
