Mikel Arteta urges Arsenal to pursue a January transfer for a star from Real Madrid.

Real Madrid has already completed the loan transfer of Endrick Felipe to Lyon, and he may not be the only player leaving during the winter transfer window.

Interest is being shown in several players from Xabi Alonso’s squad, and one of them could potentially join Arsenal.

Currently, Arsenal is at the top of the Premier League standings, aiming for their first league title in over two decades. Mikel Arteta is understandably eager to enhance his squad for the latter half of the season, hoping to incorporate a Real Madrid player soon.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Arteta have a strong admiration for Arda Guler, with hopes of reaching a structured agreement during the winter transfer window—similar to the deal that brought Martin Odegaard to North London.

Arsenal is interested in signing Guler on loan for the remainder of the season, with the intention of finalizing a permanent transfer in the summer. Their interest in the Türkiye international has been longstanding, although they may encounter competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.

Real Madrid’s position on Guler’s departure

While Arsenal is keen on Guler, the report indicates that Real Madrid has no intention of selling him. An exit would have seemed more plausible before this season, but with the 20-year-old now a crucial player for Alonso, the likelihood of him leaving the Bernabeu is minimal.

Guler began the season in excellent form, with his partnership with Kylian Mbappe being a standout aspect for Real Madrid. However, he has faced challenges with consistency in recent weeks, leading to a strong desire to regain his form in 2026.
