Aston Villa has set a price tag of £50m for the player that Arsenal has expressed interest in. As for Romano, he is currently assessing the feasibility of a potential “swap deal” between the two clubs.

The desired price for the Aston Villa player, who is also being pursued by Arsenal, is £50m, and Romano is currently evaluating the likelihood of a potential exchange agreement.

Reports suggest that Aston Villa is willing to part ways with midfielder Douglas Luiz for £50 million amid interest from Italian clubs.

Luiz played a key role in Aston Villa’s midfield during the 2023/24 season, contributing to their fourth-place finish in the Premier League and securing a spot in the Champions League.

Arsenal eyes Aston Villa’s £50m-rated target for the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have been monitoring Luiz for some time, with reports indicating that they came close to signing the Brazilian international in the 2022 summer transfer window, offering up to £25 million.

However, Villa, under the management of Steven Gerrard at the time, declined the offer.

Ever since then, Luiz’s performance on the field has reached new heights under the guidance of Unai Emery.

There were discussions about the possibility of the 26-year-old being valued at £100m, but due to financial troubles faced by Aston Villa, Luiz could potentially be sold for half that amount.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal has been notified that if they wish to revive their interest in the player this summer, Luiz will come with a price tag of £50m.

Reports suggest that Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in Luiz, with Juventus being the frontrunners in the race, as stated elsewhere.

A potential swap deal involving Weston McKennie, a midfielder from Juventus, is not being ruled out.

McKennie had a disappointing loan spell at Leeds during the second half of the 22/23 season.

It is an intriguing possibility, as McKennie was previously associated with Villa, but given the club’s urgent need to generate funds, it seems improbable that they will agree to such a deal.

On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano suggests that Luiz could become a player of interest due to Villa’s financial circumstances.

Romano, who writes for CaughtOffside, indicates that Juventus’ primary target is Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners, who is also linked with Liverpool, so they will only consider Luiz if a suitable opportunity arises, potentially through a swap deal.

Despite Mikel Arteta’s wish to acquire a new No. 6, the Italian transfer expert is uncertain if Arsenal will pursue Luiz this summer.

Douglas Luiz is a player who could attract attention, especially considering Aston Villa’s financial pressure to sell a player in the coming weeks. Juventus has shown interest in Luiz, although their primary target is Koopmeiners.

If Juve wants to pursue Luiz, a potential swap deal could be on the table. Additionally, Premier League clubs are also expected to make their moves.

Luiz has always been highly regarded by Arsenal, and there were previous talks of him joining the club two years ago. However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will make a move for him this time, as they are not actively pursuing the deal at the moment.

Nevertheless, Luiz remains an interesting prospect for Juventus, Arsenal, and possibly other clubs. Aston Villa may consider him as a potential outgoing player to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
