Arsenal possible lineup against Crystal Palace: Eze, Gabriel Jesus to return in much-changed side as Arteta makes 4 changes…
Predicted Arsenal lineup for the match against Crystal Palace: Eze and Gabriel Jesus set to return in a significantly altered team
A quintet of players sidelined as Arteta implements 4 changes | Anticipated Arsenal lineup versus Crystal Palace
Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Jesus are expected to rejoin the Arsenal starting eleven as they face Crystal Palace at the Emirates for the EFL Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
Arsenal aims to secure a place in the EFL Cup semi-finals when they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates for the quarter-final match on Tuesday evening. Mikel Arteta has no new concerns to address before this latest fixture.
Ben White (hamstring), Gabriel Magalhaes (groin), Cristhian Mosquera (ankle), Kai Havertz (knee), and Max Dowman (ankle) continue to be unavailable due to injuries. In a pre-match discussion, Arteta spoke about Gabriel Jesus’s recovery following a lengthy absence.
The Arsenal manager remarked, “Yes, he is [ready to start]. You can see now, not just in matches but every day in training, how much he desires it. He’s going to earn a chance soon. I observed him during his seven-month absence from the pitch, and the way he was moving and how much he wanted it.”
“I believe he penned a heartfelt letter [on The Players’ Tribune] detailing what football signifies to him and its impact on his life. It was truly beautiful. I think that’s perhaps Gabi’s greatest strength: uniting people, connecting with others, and creating significant uncertainty for the opponent.”
“When you’ve witnessed [against Everton] the number of spaces he was involved in, that’s his most significant asset – so we need to take advantage of that. It has been an incredibly intense journey, I would say. I think when he joined us, he elevated the belief, spirit, and energy of the club and the team.
The Arsenal manager remarked, “I believe he brought something distinctly different from what we previously had, and it was truly impressive. Unfortunately, he suffered some severe injuries that have hindered his ability to maintain the consistency we require from such a crucial player. However, he is back now. His fighting spirit and his unwavering desire to prepare in the best possible way are remarkable. The team has embraced this, and we must capitalize on it.”
Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to take over from David Raya as the goalkeeper, with Arsenal expected to adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation against Crystal Palace on Tuesday. The defensive lineup will include Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly, leaving Arteta with limited options for rotation.
In the midfield, Christian Norgaard and Mikel Merino will form the double pivot. Eberechi Eze will take on the no. 10 position, while Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli will serve as the two wide forwards. Lastly, Gabriel Jesus will spearhead the attack for the home team against Crystal Palace.
Predicted Arsenal XI: Kepa; Timber, Saliba, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly; Norgaard, Merino; Madueke, Eze, Martinelli; Jesus
