Liverpool clinched an exciting 2-1 Premier League win over nine-man Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking their unbeaten streak at six matches across all competitions.

Liverpool continued their resurgence with a thrilling 2-1 Premier League victory over a nine-man Tottenham on Saturday evening. Xavi Simons received a red card in the first half for a foul on Virgil van Dijk, followed by substitute Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike scoring, while Richarlison managed to score a consolation goal.

Cristian Romero was subsequently sent off for a second yellow card offense.

This win signifies that Arne Slot’s team is now unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions and has drawn level with Chelsea, who currently sit fourth in the league standings.

Liverpool player ratings vs Spurs

Alisson Becker 7 – Made several vital saves, including a header from Kolo Muani and denying both him and Kudus before halftime.

Conor Bradley 6 – Was a bit slow defensively in the initial quarter but improved as the match went on. He was substituted at halftime due to an injury from a collision with Spence.

Ibrahima Konate 7 – Was proactive against Kolo Muani and displayed good judgment with the ball. He also received a yellow card.

Virgil van Dijk 8 – Endured Simons’ red-card challenge and made several crucial headers as Tottenham pressed during injury time.

Milos Kerkez 7 – Frequently provided support down the left side, although his crosses were inconsistent until the second half. He also had some significant defensive contributions.

Ryan Gravenberch 7 – Played somewhat cautiously in possession before the break but did create a chance for Wirtz and clearly enjoyed the extra space as Tottenham lost players.

Curtis Jones 7 – He had ample time on the ball during the first half and excelled in the additional space created by Tottenham being down to 10 men, but he almost set up Tottenham’s equaliser.

Dominik Szoboszlai 7 – Playing on the right, he diligently worked to cover gaps but did not create anything particularly noteworthy before halftime. After that, he transitioned to right-back, maintaining his usual level of effort.

Alexis Mac Allister 7 – He found it challenging to make a significant impact from the number 10 position in the first half as Tottenham sat deep, but he inadvertently ignited the play that led to the opener.

Florian Wirtz 8 – He sought to get Liverpool moving with quick passes and had a shot saved by Vicario before breaking through Tottenham’s defense to provide an assist for Isak. A solid performance overall.

Hugo Ekitike 7 – He came close to breaking through on several occasions but lacked the necessary support and service until the second half, where he delivered a fine header over Romero for the second goal.

Substitutes

Alexander Isak (for Bradley 46) 7 – He partnered with Ekitike up front and executed an excellent finish for the opener before being forced off due to an injury sustained while scoring.

Jeremie Frimpong (for Isak 60) 7 – He made a positive impact with his speed down the right and provided a deflected cross for the second goal. He was substituted after being struck in the face by Richarlison.

Federico Chiesa (for Frimpong 90) N/A – He came on for the substitute who replaced another substitute. There’s a quiz question in that somewhere.

Andy Robertson (substituted for Ekitike at 90+9) N/A – He secured a win bonus.

Trey Nyoni (replaced Wirtz at 90+9) N/A – He made his Premier League debut.
