Liverpool XI vs Tottenham: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, injury updates for Premier League

Reds are without five senior players for the Premier League match against Spurs.

Arne Slot is optimistic that Dominik Szoboszlai will be ready to start against Tottenham this weekend.

Szoboszlai had to be substituted late in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Brighton due to an ankle problem, raising concerns about his availability for the crucial match in north London.

During the pre-match press conference on Friday, Slot provided an encouraging update regarding the midfielder.

“If the player feels ready to play and has completed all necessary preparations, then he will start,” the Dutch coach stated.

“If he can participate fully in the session or if he does but feels uncertain, we will have a conversation.

“However, Dom has been a regular starter for me during my one-and-a-half years here, and based on his performances, he would start tomorrow if he is fully fit.”

Should Szoboszlai clear a late fitness test, Slot might opt to maintain the same front four that began the victory over Brighton, which would see Hugo Ekitike preferred over Alexander Isak.

Florian Wirtz is anticipated to remain on the left side, with Cody Gakpo still sidelined due to injury. Mohamed Salah is also unavailable as he has joined the Egyptian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Slot will need to make one adjustment in defense as Joe Gomez has been ruled out due to a muscle injury sustained against the Seagulls last weekend.

Jeremie Frimpong is set to return to the squad after nearly two months out with a hamstring injury, although Conor Bradley is expected to start at right-back following a one-match suspension.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Wirtz; Ekitike.

Injured: Gakpo, Leoni, Endo, Gomez

Doubts: Szoboszlai

Unavailable: Salah (AFCON)

Predicted Tottenham XI: Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur; Kudus, Xavi, Kolo Muani; Richarlison.

Injured players include: Solanke, Maddison, Kulusevski, Dragusin, Udogie, and Takai.

Unavailable players are: Sarr and Bissouma (due to AFCON).

The match is scheduled for 5:30 PM GMT on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
