Westham vs Liverpool possible XI lineup: Arne Slot implements four changes against West Ham as a previously overlooked Liverpool player receives his first Premier League start this season.

How Liverpool might set up for their Premier League match against West Ham.

Liverpool heads east of the English capital to the London Stadium, where they will face West Ham United in a crucial match on Sunday afternoon.

Arne Slot has seen his 2025/26 Liverpool season deteriorate rapidly, putting the manager in a precarious position.

The season began with high hopes for Liverpool, particularly after investing over £400 million during the summer.

However, that initial enthusiasm has diminished following a series of unexpected setbacks, especially in light of last season’s achievements.

With each passing match, there is a growing sense that the Liverpool hierarchy might decide to terminate the Dutchman’s contract, yet they have so far allowed him time to rectify the situation.

West Ham could serve as the perfect opportunity for a potential revival for Liverpool.

Liverpool has triumphed in six of their last seven Premier League encounters with the Hammers (D1), including the last two consecutively.

They have also suffered only one defeat in their last 18 league matches against West Ham (W14, D3), although that lone victory for the Hammers occurred on their home ground.

Nonetheless, Liverpool may not find a better opportunity to reverse their fortunes than the upcoming match in East London.

The Reds enter this fixture positioned closer to the relegation zone than to league leaders Arsenal.

A result other than a victory against West Ham could be the final blow for Slot, as Liverpool is currently experiencing their worst form in over seventy years.

How Liverpool might line up

Liverpool has received a boost with the return of goalkeeper Alisson, who is expected to reclaim his starting position for Sunday’s match.

Andrew Robertson is likely to replace Milos Kerkez, while Joe Gomez is set to make his first start of the season in place of the mistake-prone Ibrahima Konate.

Gomez has made seven appearances across all competitions this season and is expected to partner with Virgil van Dijk for the first time in the Premier League, while Curtis Jones continues to play at right back.

Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are likely to maintain their partnership, with Dominik Szoboszlai positioned between Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah on the wings.

Due to Hugo Ekitike’s injury setback, Alexander Isak will have another opportunity to score his first goal following his British record transfer during the summer.

Predicted XI;

(4-2-3-1): Alisson; Jones, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Isak
