Breaking news: Paul Joyce discloses that Liverpool’s ownership engaged in discussions on Thursday while Edwards prepares to appoint a new 4-3-3 manager.

The pressure is mounting on Arne Slot to rectify the situation at Liverpool, and it has been reported that Michael Edwards may consider hiring a former Premier League coach.

Arne Slot expresses “shock” as Liverpool’s crisis deepens.

The 3-0 loss at Anfield to Nottingham Forest indicated that Liverpool was facing a crisis, but the subsequent 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven suggests that Slot might struggle to navigate out of this predicament.

The Reds are experiencing an unprecedented poor run, having broken their transfer record twice over the summer to support their title-winning manager.

This is the most surprising downturn from a team that many expected to defend their English title, and Slot has acknowledged that it has also been a “shock” for him in recent weeks.

“I believe it is a shock for everyone involved. For the players, for the journalists present, for me, for all. This is indeed a shock and it’s extremely unexpected considering the quality we possess. Is it a lack of confidence? I didn’t observe that in the first half.

“Naturally, it is challenging when, after a 3-0 defeat, you immediately concede a goal in this match. I witnessed the mentality these players have demonstrated numerous times since my arrival; they came back in a manner one would hope for, created opportunities, and kept the opposition in their half – and after another setback with the 2-1 goal, I also saw us generating chances again to equalize at 2-2.

“However, by the end of the match, I did notice that perhaps one or two players were affected by being down 3-1 and 4-1, which is true.”

Historically, Liverpool is not known for dismissing managers, but reports now suggest that Edwards has a favorable view of Ange Postecoglou, and the pressure on Slot to improve results is intensifying.

Liverpool considering Postecoglou as Joyce reveals discussions regarding the crisis.

Paul Joyce shared on social media that the club’s hierarchy has conducted talks with Slot on Thursday.

According to TeamTalk, Edwards holds Postecoglou in high regard and remains unfazed by the Australian’s unsuccessful stint at Nottingham Forest or the way his last season in the Premier League concluded at Tottenham Hotspur.

Postecoglou, who utilizes an attacking 4-3-3 formation with a high defensive line, has openly expressed his expectation for “relentless” pressing from his teams. He has been without a job since a brief 8-game period with Forest, which yielded only 0.25 points per game.

Sources at Anfield informed TeamTalk that Slot is currently “under pressure” but is not in immediate jeopardy of being dismissed.

“[Is he in danger?] Yes and no – he’s under pressure, but the situation isn’t as clear-cut as some might suggest.

“We are experiencing a challenging period. The passing of Jota has undoubtedly had a significant effect on the club, and it was anticipated that there would be a decline following Jurgen.

We are entering a new phase – with a new head coach, new staff, and a younger squad profile. This was always part of the strategy.

“He cannot continue to lose, that much is clear. Three or four more poor results would completely alter the discussion. However, there is more flexibility than outsiders perceive.

We do not dismiss managers lightly at Liverpool. The owners dislike impulsive decisions, and FSG still views this as the beginning of a multi-year initiative.”

It is a challenging scenario for Liverpool’s leadership. Slot was only the second manager to secure a Premier League title for them last season, yet it is undeniable that recent performances have been unsatisfactory, raising serious doubts about his ability to rectify the situation, especially as his team continues to repeat the same errors week after week.

Liverpool’s primary target to succeed Arne Slot following the surprising Jurgen Klopp development Liverpool’s troubling streak of results persisted on Wednesday night, intensifying the pressure on Arne Slot as the club’s management considers potential replacements, both for the short and long term. The Dutch manager is facing significant scrutiny after overseeing nine defeats in the last 12 matches. Slot achieved Premier League success in his debut season, but his second year has proven to be far more difficult, with mounting pressure. Slot asserts that he still has the support of the American owners; however, they are preparing for the worst and have identified the PSG manager as their preferred long-term candidate. The Spaniard has performed exceptionally in Paris, leading the French team to their first Champions League title last season. This achievement was part of a treble-winning campaign, marking the second time Enrique has accomplished this feat. He previously did so in 2015 while managing Barcelona, where he also secured the Champions League as part of the treble. Remarkably, Liverpool might consider Jurgen Klopp for the managerial position on a temporary basis if they decide to dismiss Slot. The German, currently the Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull, would likely be asked to step in only until the season concludes, as Enrique is not expected to leave mid-season. Slot claims he has maintained communication with the club’s executives throughout this challenging period of results, which has arguably reached new lows this week. They were shocked at Anfield by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, suffering a 3-0 defeat, and things deteriorated further on Wednesday with a 4-1 Champions League defeat at home to PSV. The Sun reports that discussions have also occurred among Liverpool’s executives, who are increasingly worried that he is losing the support of the players. Slot invested an astonishing £426 million on new players during the summer but has struggled to establish a winning strategy or settle on a consistent starting eleven…
