Gabriel, Gyokeres, Odegaard: Updates on Arsenal’s injuries and expected return dates before the clash with Bayern Munich.

Arsenal is eager to have some of their key players back in the lineup in the upcoming weeks.

The Gunners made significant progress towards clinching their first Premier League title in 22 years, defeating local rivals Tottenham Hotspur with a commanding 4-1 scoreline at the Emirates.

Eberechi Eze shone brightly, netting an impressive hat-trick on derby day to secure the win.

Having nearly transferred to Spurs during the summer before a last-minute change of plans, the 27-year-old was visibly thrilled as he led his new team to victory in the North London Derby, putting them six points ahead at the top of the table.

Noni Madueke made his return as a substitute in the second half, while Gabriel Martinelli was fit enough to be included on the bench. Additionally, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber both recovered from injuries to start the match.

However, several regular first-team players are still sidelined, although return dates for many of Mikel Arteta’s crucial players are approaching.

With another pivotal week ahead, the league leaders face significant matches against Bayern Munich and Chelsea, and they will aim to have as many players available as possible.

Latest injury updates for Arsenal and expected return dates ahead of a crucial week:

Viktor Gyokeres: The Swedish forward has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury during the win against Burnley prior to the international break.

According to reports from The Standard, he was “very close” to being fit for the match against Spurs, and the Gunners’ new striker is hopeful to return to action midweek when Bayern visits north London for the Champions League.

Expected return date: Bayern Munich (H) – November 26

Martin Odegaard: Like Gyokeres, Arsenal’s captain Odegaard was nearly available for the derby this weekend. He has been sidelined since early October due to an MCL injury sustained against West Ham United.

Arteta hopes to have the Norwegian back on the pitch by Wednesday when Harry Kane and his team visit the Emirates.

Potential return date: Bayern Munich (H) – November 26

Arsenal had five players unavailable for the match against Spurs.

Kai Havertz: The German player has been out since August and was expected to return after the international break, but he wasn’t quite ready to join the squad for the Spurs match.

Arteta did not indicate that Havertz was as close to returning as Gyokeres and Odegaard, so midweek may be too soon for him. However, he could target a comeback against his former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next weekend.

Potential return date: Chelsea (A), November 30

Gabriel: The Brazilian defender suffered a concerning thigh injury while on international duty with Brazil and is anticipated to be out for several weeks.

Further evaluation is required to determine a precise return date, but Arsenal expects to be without Gabriel for the foreseeable future, with concerns he may be sidelined until January.

Potential return date: Unknown

Gabriel Jesus: After being out since January 2025 due to a ruptured ACL, Jesus is now back in training and is getting closer to rejoining the first team.

He will be gradually reintegrated into the squad, and Gunners fans can look forward to seeing the striker back in action in early December.

Potential return date: December
