Report – Liverpool set to clinch deal for £51.5m Dutch star amid Arne Slot admission…
According to recent reports, Liverpool is leading the race to secure the signature of Dutch star Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta.
The Reds are currently prioritizing the appointment of a new manager, with Dutch coach Arne Slot expressing his confidence in potentially joining the Anfield club (ESPN).
As indicated in the latest edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Liverpool is considered the frontrunner in the pursuit of Koopmeiners.
Despite interest from Juventus, the Italian club may be deterred by two key factors. Firstly, Atalanta has set an asking price of £51.5m (60 million euros) for the talented midfielder.
Furthermore, the Bianconeri have expressed concerns regarding the tough competition posed by Premier League clubs, particularly Liverpool.
Koopmeiners has showcased his versatility by excelling in various positions in the center, including No.6, No.8, and No.10, throughout this season.
Impressively, he has already scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in all competitions for his Serie A team. In contrast, Szoboszlai, who was expected to deliver similar numbers, has been performing below par recently.
