Federico Chiesa reveals what happened in Liverpool changing room after Brentford loss…
Federico Chiesa discusses the events that unfolded in the Liverpool changing room following the loss to Brentford.
Chiesa candidly shared his thoughts on the silence that enveloped the Liverpool squad after their recent defeat against Brentford, suggesting that it was a positive response.
The loss to Brentford marked Liverpool’s fourth straight defeat in the Premier League.
Despite a midweek victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, the team found themselves back at square one, leading to a frustrating silence in the away changing room after the match.
In an interview with media outlets including the Liverpool Echo, Chiesa stated: “No one was talking because everyone understands the situation. Sometimes, it’s unnecessary to discuss what’s happened; we all know the reality.
“Thus, no one spoke because we need to focus on how we can improve. Typically, when faced with such circumstances, the first thought is to give more effort and train harder.
“It was beneficial that we didn’t engage in conversation after the game, as it indicates that everyone is eager for change. Everyone is determined to alter the current situation.
“Afterwards, we boarded the bus and began discussing the circumstances, with everyone keen to turn things around.
“That’s our primary objective, and the first step is to avoid placing blame on anything or anyone. There are multiple factors at play, and it’s not just one issue.
“I, personally, don’t concern myself with whether it’s this or that causing our lack of victories. The most crucial aspect for me is to work harder and strive for the win.”
“Winning breeds winning”
On a personal note, Chiesa has been performing admirably this season, despite having started only one match across all competitions.
While several teammates are facing challenges, the 28-year-old remains optimistic about Liverpool’s long-term prospects.
“I always maintain a positive outlook, and we possess the quality and talent to recover. We have an excellent manager, so I don’t foresee any issues,” Chiesa remarked.
“I hope there won’t be any problems in the future.
“At the start of the season, we were on a winning streak, and no one was raising any questions about this or that, so we simply need to win because it’s Liverpool.”
“We possess world-class players who can adapt to any situation and deliver results,” he stated. “Therefore, I don’t foresee any issues.”
“If Crystal Palace opts for long balls and throw-ins, they are free to do so, as we will respond with high intensity, winning duels, and striving for victory.”
“I’m not sure if this is how you express it in English, but in Italy, we say, ‘winning brings winning.’”
“In English, a similar expression might be ‘winning breeds winning,’ which reflects a mindset.”
“This is not the only challenge Liverpool faces, but it is evident that confidence is lacking among the players, and their belief in overcoming deficits is diminishing.”
“While the season began with Liverpool frequently scoring late winners, they now appear to lack conviction.”
