Arsenal confirmed lineup vs. Brighton ( 4-3-3 ) Mosquera, Hincapie, Nwaneri, Norgaard and Trossard make the starting eleven. Odegaard and Madueke miss the match at home tonight with William Saliba also now sidelined.
Arteta implements 8 changes | Projected Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) against Brighton with decisions on Rice & Saka
Projected Arsenal line-up against Brighton & Hove Albion, Mikel Arteta has made eight alterations.
Arsenal hosts Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium for the Carabao Cup fourth round this evening.
The Gunners received a significant injury boost yesterday, as manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that three key players are available.
Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka are all set to participate in the League Cup match against the Seagulls.
However, Arsenal will miss William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli, as both are currently being evaluated following recent injuries.
Arteta is expected to rotate his starting eleven. We predict eight changes from the 1-0 league victory over Crystal Palace.
Last season, the Gunners played to 1-1 draws against Brighton. They will be striving for a win to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Projected Line-up:
Kepa Arrizabalaga made his debut during the Carabao Cup third round win at Port Vale.
The Spain international is anticipated to return to goal, with compatriot David Raya likely to be rested.
Arteta is expected to deploy a revamped defense for this match. Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly are set to start at right-back and left-back, respectively.
Jurrien Timber and Calafiori are likely to be rested ahead of Saturday’s league match against Burnley.
Gabriel Magalhaes is also expected to be benched. Piero Hincapie is poised to make his full debut in the center of defense alongside Cristhian Mosquera.
Hincapie has made only two substitute appearances and could finally break into the starting eleven.
Christian Norgaard is expected to replace Martin Zubimendi in the number six position. With Rice fit, the Englishman should continue as the central midfielder.
Arteta requires additional mobility in the midfield against Carlos Baleba and Yasin Ayari. We believe Mikel Merino is better suited to play in an advanced role.
Ethan Nwaneri has frequently been an unused substitute. The Gunners academy graduate is expected to be preferred over Eberechi Eze for the number 10 position tonight.
Additionally, we foresee only one alteration from the hard-fought derby victory against the Eagles on Sunday.
During his pre-match press conference, Arteta suggested that the club might need to exercise more caution with Viktor Gyokeres, given that other specialist strikers are currently injured.
Therefore, it would not be surprising to see Merino take the lead as the makeshift center-forward.
Leandro Trossard is anticipated to retain his position on the left wing with Martinelli unavailable. Bukayo Saka is expected to start on the right wing, having played just over an hour last weekend.
Max Dowman may be brought on from the bench, as he did not participate in the Under-21s match yesterday.
