Predicted Arsenal lineup against Manchester United: Gyokeres and Zubimendi to make their debuts; Trossard in the mix.

Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi are set to make their first competitive appearances for Arsenal as they face Manchester United at Old Trafford this Sunday.

Arsenal aims to kick off their pursuit of the 2025/26 Premier League title when they clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

Mikel Arteta has received encouraging news regarding the team’s condition ahead of this season-opening match.

Leandro Trossard has been dealing with a groin issue sustained during Arsenal’s pre-season match against Tottenham Hotspur. The Belgian international will undergo a late fitness assessment to confirm his availability.

On the other hand, Gabriel Jesus remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

During his pre-match press conference, Arteta shared updates on the fitness of Trossard, Viktor Gyokeres, and Martin Zubimendi.

The Arsenal manager stated, “I believe he’s [Trossard] feeling much better. He should be able to train again tomorrow, and if that happens, he will be fit.

[Viktor’s] improving every day. He’s typically a very fit player, although he hasn’t trained extensively with us.”

“He had two moments in games where he participated, and the feedback was very positive.

So we’ll see what we decide for Sunday. [Regarding Zubi], he has integrated excellently. As everyone can see, he has made a significant impact on the team. I’m very pleased, and he will be fit.”

David Raya is a guaranteed starter in goal, with Arsenal expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Manchester United on Sunday.

The defense will likely consist of Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Riccardo Calafiori, with the latter preferred over Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Regarding the midfield setup, Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice will form a double pivot, enabling Martin Odegaard to take on the no. 10 position with greater freedom.

Ultimately, Viktor Gyokeres is expected to spearhead the attack for the away team against Manchester United, supported by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as the two wide forwards.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Gyokeres
