‘World-class performance’ – Roy Keane was left in awe of a ‘brilliant’ Liverpool player following their 3-0 win against Manchester United, expressing how much he enjoys witnessing his world-class performance…
Roy Keane expressed his admiration for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, labeling his performance as ‘world-class’ following the team’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In the wake of Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat of Manchester United, Roy Keane was captivated by a ‘brilliant’ player, emphasizing his enjoyment in watching such world-class talent.
The former footballer is highly impressed by the exceptional skills displayed by the Liverpool ace.
Salah was the standout player, contributing a goal and two assists, which helped solidify Arne Slot’s successful start as the Reds’ manager.
Entering the match with two wins from their first two Premier League fixtures of the 2024-25 season, Liverpool remains the only team yet to concede a goal, having won all their matches thus far.
Salah showcased his exceptional talent, now tallying three goals and three assists this season, which left Keane thoroughly impressed.
“He was brilliant,” Keane remarked on Sky Sports. “That was a world-class performance. He’s a fantastic player to watch. While it’s tough for Manchester United today, credit must be given where it’s due.”
Keane also noted that Salah is in control of his contract situation. Although clubs often hesitate to extend contracts for players aged 31 or 32, Salah will ultimately decide his future.
“He’s their key player, and they will need to offer him a new deal. He will certainly have numerous options available to him.”
Liverpool is actively working to persuade Salah to extend his contract, but with only 12 months remaining, the possibility of him leaving as a free agent at the end of the season cannot be dismissed.
Since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has amassed 214 goals and 90 assists in 352 appearances for the club.
Retaining him should be a top priority for Liverpool moving forward.
As a three-time winner of the Premier League Golden Boot, Salah demonstrated against Manchester United why he is indispensable to Liverpool, and he will undoubtedly aim to maintain his impressive form in the upcoming matches.
